Does anyone care about whats happening with the beckhams, who cares what he did. It's been on the front page on the mirror for 2 weeks now, the front of every other national newspaper as well. I mean who cares? Who cares if he's going out with so and so. He's just a footballer, get a life people.

I agree, I'm fine with sport and sports(wo)men. As long as they stay in the back section. Unfortunately, many are also, 'celebs.' Which means that even the most vacuous individual can 'sell' papers.
People want to know about people who are better then themselves. It gives them something to aspire to become. Or some people just like gossip, it gives them a sense of superiority over somebody else if something bad happens. But you’re right in saying that they should get a life.

the mirror is a tabloid. That swhy its on there. Is that the whole problem with Britain. Is it just that the General populace actually read tabloids. With all the Naughty pictures I see in them I can beleive it. Who'lda thunk a panty flash would be front page news.

celebrities in general are just attention seekers.
some are just unlucky, having press follow them 24/7 and having no private life.
but some just want to be on tv or newspapers. tara palmer tomlinson or whatever has done lots of stuff, she got a taste of being famous in the jungle and got hopelessly addicted. there are many other celebrities like her but i agree with Aust.

I would rather put my head in a press and slowly squeeze until my eyeballs pop out of their sockets than watch or read an entire artical/program etc about the beckhams (You can't help but catch a small amount becouse even the beeb seems to think that such pointless clattrap is worthy of air time) or most other "celebreties" not my heros... not heros at all just t-----rs with cash and egos.
