Got a Question about a telegram????
I just received a telegram from the "Compliance Ministry" that stated........
"Laws have been enacted to bring the Free Land of Xiorc into compliance with the United Nations "UN Educational Committee" resolution. :?:
What are they saying????
Any help would be great...
As a member of the UN you are obligated to enforce those rulings agreed on by the majority of UN members.
As to the game, I don't think it makes much difference, but don't you just hate other nations telling you what to do?
That is why I withdrew the Armed Republic of Jeem from the UN.
Who cares if my unwashed masses are illeterate as long as they pay their taxes and bow down before me.
You have to weigh the pros & cons of UN membership. The Pros could be said to be increased status as an UN Member, the possibility (very slim) of becoming a UN Regional Delagate and then Proposing your own wacky laws.
Cons would be that they pass wacky laws that you may not agree too but have to accept.
Salutations from the Tyrant of Jeem.
How in the hell do I "force" UN polocies" on my own nation???
So what would happen if I just ignored the UN????
I would check the FAQ on the main menu, but I believe that nothing would happen to you if you ignored them. I think they are just for show.
If Nation States 2 comes out then they may have an actual impact but at the minute I have not seen any sort of effect of UN Policy on my nation, prior to withdrawl from the UN that is.

This may just be a hunch, said Quasimodo, but it seems that overall the UN member nations do better in statistical categories than non-member nations.
I'm not sure that means anything though.

Oh, and not meaning to be rude, but in future please post this in Technical.
From what I have seen the UN enforcement doesn't have any real effect. It is just for show. You will get one of those telegrams every time a resolution is passed. Have fun with it.
