It's the belief that one should be loyal to your country rather than the person/people leading it.
I personally find Nationalism to be better than Patriotism; however it has been abused by evil rulers over the years (Hitler, Stalin, Kim) and I see practially no countries of good status using Nationalism. This is why we may see Nationalism as a bad thing, but really it is not
