Baba O'Riley (Teenage Wasteland)
A lot of people are familiar with the band "The Who". A large percentage of those people are familiar with a song by The Who called "Teenage Wasteland." However, only a tiny portion of those people know that the actual title of the song is not "Teenage Wasteland" but is, instead, "Baba O'Riley".
I can see no reason for the song to be titled "Baba O'Riley" and have not found anybody else who could. Is it just a random pair of words chosen to be the title of the song? Or does it have some signfigance?
Regardless, the song does kick ass.

If Pete Townshend calls it 'Baba O'Reilly' then the song's gunna be 'Baba O'Reilly' regardless if he even says it in the song or not.
Anyways, the Who were a one of a kind band. Hard to imagine someone being like them ever again.
So, does anybody know why?

Baba O'Reilly is the name of they guy the song is about. He was a teenager, now he isn't anymore.

"The title comes from Meher Baba, who was Pete Townshend's spiritual guru, and Terry Riley, an electronic music composer who gave him the idea for the synthesizer part."

I had always thought that 'Baba O'Riley' was the name of a female character in Townshend's aborted Lifehouse project that the song was being sung to, rather than by, but I can accept the explanation above.

If you're interested in this sort of trivia, Wikipedia has a list of songs like that (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_whose_title_does_not_appear_in_the_lyrics).
I had no idea. Thanks a bunch!
