First off, hello all you General fourm junkies. You may note that you have never seen my name before and probably assume correctly thatI am one of NS's RP junkies. Well, there is no RPing at 2 am Eastern, so I am here.

Now... I'm going to avoind the whol 9-11 Rice issue(sounds like Porshe's new food item...) and get right to my opinions of America. The following is my own. I share it with you because, well... I don't know. Because I feel like it. If you disagree, fine. If you agree, fine. Just keep it civil, no flames, no insults, no shouts of "(insert politician's name here) SUCKS!"

Also.... I may be out and out wring on details. I want you to tell me if I am. Becaus this is just my perception of America and it's heading.

First up:

The Democrats.

Liberals. Watch any stad up comic and you get the idea they are all tree-hugging, veggie-eating, planet-loving, PETA-sponsering, electric-car-driving, homosexual fanatics who want to end capitalism as we know it.

Wrong. There are people that fit the above speel in their ranks, but come on.... every political party has it's odd-balls. They are smart, witty, funny, concerned citizens just like me.

Except they usually(USUALLY) want big government to handle most things. Not a crime, but what happens when you start the class wars. You make the rich poorer and the poor richer. After a long enough time, you have an overall equal playing field. Unfortunatly, that is usually poverty. Why? Because power over that much is corrupting. The ones in power amass wealth like crazy and you have poor citizens and dirty rich leaders. It happened in the Soviet Union. They don't think that it will get that far. And in their lifetime, it probably won't.

The Republicans. That same standup is talking again. Bush-loving, capitalistic, gun-toting, Dale-Gribble, power-mad, redneck, religous-fanatic morons.

Wrong again. They are the same as the liberals, exceppt they want the government to monitor things and take over if needed.

This leads to the same place, just through a more scenic route. Every goal that the Democrats have, the Republicans have. Just adjusted to work a lot slower. The big two are leading us towards one class systems, whether they know it or not. And what is a one class system? Socialism. What is a one class system lorded over by a monsterous government? Communism.

So what am I? I am obviously not a Democrat or a Republican.

I am a Libertarian. We are those that are more conservative than the Republicans. The ones that want the freedoms we are meant to have, with minimal government intrusion. You want to do crack? Go right ahead. You kill someone to get it though, and you're going down. You want to drink yourself off your ass? Go ahead. You get behind a wheel of a car? Uh-uh. Do what you want to yourself, but the moment it infringes on another person in a way they do not wish, you get busted.

Now, even we have our odd-balls. The Anarchists. Those who want no governemnt, but know that goal is not possible, so they get the next best thing. Us. I know. My mom is one. Direct quote: "If everyone were as honest as I was, there would be no problem." Sorry to tell you this mom... but the world is full of dishonest people.

I could go on, but I'm tired. So comment on what I managed to get up and I;ll add to it later.

> Heh...right there. I don't agree with a lot of this liberal bullcrap but thats just me. Like religion in public places. You're allowd to say go to hell but you get hammered if you say God bless you. I don't get it.

What about immigrants? I know America was built off immigration and all...but the immigrants had to work their way to succeed and had to fit in with the crowd. Sure America is diverse but I just think that those who come to America should have to speak our language. I don't think its right when you grow up in America and have to force yourself to learn another language cause ppl are too damn ignorant to learn english. Its not like we could go to Russia or Mexico and make everyone speak our language...

I don't have anything wrong with libs...conservs...whatever. I just don't agree with some things. They are just two things. I don't feel like typing that much more...

BTW...this is Dfd's friend NOT dfd...

That's what I missed! The borders.

Stick the army on it. If you want to come and work here, go right ahead. Just come through the gates, not over the fences.

Sounds more like a form of free-market fascism, which is what I support.

Libertarians are cool.

I don't agree with them half the time, but they're cool.

I try to be Larry-Elder-ish... "Republitarian" :)

Liberals, conservatives exist in both of the main political parties. What one has to watch for ar those that are hard left or hard right.. Extremes just don't cut it. Moderates serve no purpose, they believe they are in the middle but are actually just wishy washy and avoid taking a position on anything of importance... Kerry??

I sort of think of myself as a Constitutionalist, lots of shared opinions with the Libertarians. Adults should have the right to do what they damn well please as long as it does not affect another such as the example given about getting drunk as a skunk is ok but don't even think about driving. I suppose my main contention is with the Liberals in general and in specific. These folks want to re-write the constitution to suit themselves since they know what is right for everyone. Conservatives are more tolerable but they see conspiracies everywhere that want to 'change' things. Ok, so who ever said cll change was bad?

We have too many laws on the books and only a lawyer can understand them (or pretend to) and will charge a large amount of money to interpret them for you.. wrong! We need but few laws plainly written and strictly enforced... read that no plea bargaining. There should also be no excuses like 'He did not mean to mass murder all those folks, he had a deprived childhood and his mother was also scared by a catfish so he can not be held responsible' Bull crap!

The borders... as stated above, let the military patrol them and do so efficiently. America is/was often called a melting pot of peoples. That is not the case these days. A melting pot implies that all people come here and BLEND into the socio-cultural pattern that is American. English is spoken here, in the main we move toward the same life styles. I can not think of a place in America where folks do not have events that celebrate their ancestory and show off the differences left behind yet passed on within the family group. Saint Patrick's Day where the Irish parade about and many of the non-Irish wear green and join in the celebration. As a nation we are proud of our ethnic background but do not wear it daily. Many of the new crop of immigrants refuse to BLEND, they feel they do not have to...WRONG! My family came from Europe in the 1900's, they learned English, they dressed to fit in, at home they ate ethnic food and spoke both english and their native tongue. My great grandparents came here with very little, they put up with alot of discrimination and setbacks. They had little or no money and lived in what would now be termed slum areas. Difference was that the floors were clean, kids were clean and parents did without so that food was on the table.

OOPS!!! Geeze, just fell off the soap box...sorry if this turned into a rant.
