Jon Stewart tells like it is.

Stewart is already one of the funniest guys around, but in recent weeks, he's become perhaps the best at exposing the Bush administration's crap when it comes to Iraq and the media in general.

i love jon, he is hilarious!

His staff is funny but he himself is obnoxious.

And their idea of news analysis for the first week of the 9-11 commission was a montage of "hair on fire" quotes. Insightful. And they can take every word from Clarke as gospel, but the average person knows better.

Meh. Matter of opinion. He has his good nights and his less good nights. Compared to other late-night hosts, though (or just general comedians), I'd have to say he's one of my favorites.

I'm not sure "news analysis" is really in their job description.

And yet, QahJoh, compared to most "news" channels, Stewart does a very incisive job. Especially on the Fox News clip--I highly recommend it.

Yes. They're almost as brave as those hardworking souls who work so dilligently in the sarcasm mines.

... I assume you'll be moving up to "foreman" soon?

I love the Daily Show!! :D It's definatley one of the best shows on Comedy Central now. The only flaw i could think of is that it's not long enough. The half hour just goes by way to fast.

He and his staff were voted the second funniest people in America by Entertainment Weekly a few weeks ago.

Actually Jon Stewart himself was voted second funniest person in America.. right behind Chris Rock.. another liberal! ;)

It's because liberals know how to take a joke. We are able to laugh at ourselves and not take it so seriously..

That's what I believe any way.. you or any one else may feel free to disagree with me without fear of being deleted..

Well, it technically said "2. Jon Stewart" and then in smaller letters underneath that, "And the Staff of The Daily Show."

Its the only show I watch with any regularity.

He makes fun of the current administration with flair. Something lacking in most other attempts to demean Bush and Co.. Stewart's got style.

Best skit was the Steven Corderre's Interviews I could get... :P

I agree that there is funnier people then Chris Rock, like George Carlin for example.. He had a new stand up this year. Although Chris Rock can be funny.. but he does usually just swear for half his act.. I guess he needs filler..lol :P

I like Rob Coudroy or however you spell it. The balding one. He's hysterical. And of course, Steve and Stephen are classic.

I agree with all that you said. Stewart's staff is alot funnier than he is. The only reason I occasionally watch is basically to laugh at their mock news reports. Jonny could be funnier if he tired to be more neutral and unbiased. I know he makes some jokes about kerry too, but sometimes he's just as partisan, if not more so, than the 9/11 comission.
10-04-2004, 16:10
why should he be partisan? It's not like he's a real newscaster. His bias shouldn't affect the enjoyment of his show, he tells jokes, funny ones.

I love them all, but I just happen to like him better. What 's your favorite skit? Mine is the one about how NYC apartment owners illegley have cats. My fave quote from that was when Rob said "Now, please look directly into my cat."

It doesn't bother me that much, but the other day he tried to discredit Condeleeza Rice's testimony before the 9/11 Comsission, which ordinarily would be fine, but it is a bit odd when almost every other news source commended Condi on her testimony, including some of the most fierce opponents of the Bush Administration, like charlie rangel and joe lieberman. (boy, that sentence was a bit too long)

Your nation name is some what flamebait.. since you just started this nation today and you have no real vested interest in it yet, I'm going to delete it. I'm only deleting your nation based on the name. You haven't said any thing wrong on the forum.. if you wouldn't mind please just creating another nation with a name that might not start arguments. Trust me if your nation was named "Republicans are sissies" I would take the same action.

Hope you understand. It's nothing personal.

Thanks!
