This is a strange one...

"Teen girl charged with posting nude photos on Internet

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A 15-year-old girl has been arrested for taking nude photographs of her self and posting them on the Internet, police said.

The girl, whose identity was withheld, was accused of sending out photographs of herself in various states of undress and performing a variety of sexual acts. She sent them to people she met in chat rooms on the Internet, police said.

Police seized her computer and found dozens of photographs stored on the hard drive. Authorities did not say how police learned about the girl.

She has been charged with sexual abuse of children, possession of child pornography and dissemination of child pornography."

Does that mean she will have to register as a sex-offender?

Maybe it's possible for a split personality to sexually abuse him/her-self?

This isn't logical...I'm not saying kids should be posting pictures of themselves like that, but...sheesh! Child Abuse? Abusing a minor?

I'd agree, in fact i do, but, some people may argue that she is free to do with her body as she pleases, and if people dont like it, they dont have to ask to see her pics, or they can ignore her.....

Where I live she would not be considered a responsible adult (as she has not reached the age of 16) and therefore she wouldn't have gotten charged or received a sentence, but the pics themselves would be illegal. And of course any adult that would be possessing these pictures would be in possession of child pornography.

And of course any adult that would be possessing these pictures would be in possession of child pornography.Thats true, and important. Even if she didn't commit a crime the people who viewed them did.

Still it seems insane that a law devised to prevent children from suffering at the hands of sexual deviants is being used to charge a minor in what (in all fairness) really was a victimless crime.

It's a crazy system...
I remember seeing an interview with this Icelandic kid in texas who bit another kid in the crotch "area" when he was ten years old (from which the victim escaped unharmed).
The kid just got out of jail, he's 24 years old and has to wear a GPS-ankle-thingy and isn't allowed to leave his own house (or the USA). A house which is marked for the public as the house of a sex-offender.
The judge that sentenced him was quite surprised when he learned that the Icelandic government wanted this kid extradited (which never happened).
