I feel the need to discuss old music and new music. Also how new music sucks and old music rocks! Not to mention how it has changed over the years.

There's good and bad stuff from all eras - don't like 60s stuff much, but Electric Prunes et al rock. Similarly there is less stuff I like around now than there used to be, but that's just part of getting older I guess. There's still plenty of stuff around to keep me happy (Muse, SOAD, Snow Patrol, for example),in spite of being predominantly an 80s Indie-Kid

Today the innovation and energy is at the edges. In the 60's, it was center stage.

pop music is always pretty rubbish.
But everyone (with the exception of those with broader horizons) thinks that the music they listen/listened to was excellent and that more modern music or music from diffrent genres is rubbish... I just think people should stick to what they like and quit moaning about $h!7 that they don't like but other people do!

That's a generalization, and unfair.

I can rank decades of music without favoring "my own".
1910s-corny :(
20s-jazz age 8)
30s-dullish early :(
40s-swing 8)
50s-rock 8)
60s-bands 8)
70s-disco, country crossover :(
80s- synth pop, power, innovation 8)
90s-alternate :?: (ok but not strong in sales)
