Did he post pics as well? I'm glad I didn't see any of them if so... Funny story though. I guess lots of people are a tiny bit pissed off at this person. :D

Not bad.
If they ever catch the Michael Jackson spammer, they can prosecute him, right?

I don't know. Not for being a PITA although it would be welcome...

Let's put it this way.. he was using a proxy.. and we still nailed him.. people just aren't as well covered on the net as they use to be. People still for some reason believe that they can hide.. it's not like it was 10 years ago.. or even 3 years ago.. security on the Internet has gotten much better. You can figure out who any one is if you want to bad enough..
Any way.. just glad to be rid of him.. hopefully this might put off any other people who think they can mess with Nationstates with impunity.. ;)

Well, according to the news article, he was posting child porn - that is a crime (at least it is in the UK).

I assumed it would be stated specifically in the site regulations.
I am asking though, not stating.

No you haven't! We need details! If it was something funny that is. Child porn isn't funny imho, but I haven't seen anything of that here? (thank [random deity])

Lord knows....I didn't even know that the '.cx' domain existed at all.
ok, firstly I'd like to say I'm impressed that it made the news ANYWHERE.
Secondly, I never knew that Max Barry lived in Australia, let alone Melbourne.
And thirdly and MOST IMPORTANTLY, that article confirms that Max Barry is indeed [violet]. Did any of you read all of it? It names MB as the founder of the site, and states that he banned the IP address.
Need i say more? read the rest for yourselves and make up your own minds.

Guess what, MP? It would seem that you've found a server loop-hole!! i just checked your nation and it said the last time you logged in was 31 days ago!! And as we all know 28 days is the limit. I guess that means you can still keep your nation alive, as long as you are still active on the forum.

yeah I emailed the NS people to put me in vacation mode a few days ago but I don't know if they did or not. I never got a reply so I don't know if they did or not, but that could explain it. I'm glad to be still alive though :D

Update on the msg I get at www.nationstates.net:
(btw adelaide, I'm back home now, and I didn't manage to get back on to check up on my msg on the regional board)
UPDATE (13 Apr 04): TelstraClear has advised that as of May 4th,
their customers will no longer share a single IP address.
As soon as this occurs, TelstraClear and Paradise users will
no longer be affected by this ban. So there's light at the
end of the tunnel at last! Thanks for your patience.
