why group england and america?

1) only allowed 5 options

2) we have, to quote tony, a special relationship

What special relationship do Ireland and Holland have? None, imo :?

I understand that there can only be 5 options, but wouldn't:

1. US/Canada
2. UK/Ireland
3. Cont. Europe
4. Australia/NZ
5. Other

make a bit more sense?

I am Australian, and proud to be so (but I believe that still gives me the right to detest the actions of my government on occassion). But enough of the sermon.

Crikey, though, why group Australia with Canada? New Zealand is probably a little closer both geographically and culturally/historically although we Aussies do worder about why their sheep usually looke so frightened

In case you didn't know... England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales are all part of Britain... Tony Blair refers to 'us' as Britain, not just England... well, mostly he's speaking for himself, but he likes to think that Britain thinks the same as him.

where i live is in a house
it is in a valley that is less home to me
then the mountains next to it
it is in something of a defacto city
that is less of a home to me then the countryside of those mountains
it is at the base of those mountains
it is more then 100 but less then 150 miles in most direct line
from the pacific coast of north america
the government that claims soverignty over this place
does not represent me, however much it might claim to
i have little doubt it could be worse
but also great certainty it could be much much better
my mountains are the sierra nevada
or sureal nervana
as they have been lovingly nicknamed
my loyalty is to a way of life that may exist only in my mind
or on a small green planet in a distant galaxy
i am no threat to anyone
nor do i wish to be
but i do not willingly contribute to the perpetuating of the tyranny
of the dominance of aggressiveness
and peacefully boycott doing so when and as best i can
it is a small house
i do not own it
i am permitted to garden in a small portion of the lot it sets on
i have neighbors
far too many and far too closeby
but better then many i have had elsewhere
one of them is our landlord
his dogs love me
but he does not want us to have cats or other creatures that can run arround loose and live independently so we don't

there are trains in my garden
and in the garage space that is storage and workspace
and on one of the dressers in the bedroom i share with my wife.

those trains and this computer are the only material possessions i value

there are paved streets and automobiles in this town which do not make it pleasant

there is a large railroad yard that does

I think the NZ government is being abit more intellegent than mine, the Howard "I love taking it from Dubya" Australian government, that is. Culturually and historically, we do have allot in common though with our Trans - Tasman cousins. I think ANZAC sums it up.

I'm from Ocean Grove, Victoria, Australia, but I am living in China at the moment.

I don't mind being chucked in with Canada, don't really see the connection though. We are both Commonwealth countries and fought in a few wars together for similar reasons, such as WW1 & 2

I grouped canada and australia together because they are both commonwealth countries… pretty lame but there you go…

I didn't put NZ on because 1) it's pretty close to australia and 2) no-one was from there in the previous poll.

Catholic Europe  a 5 figure post count!!  *collapses*

continents idea is probably better(if not the best!), but this is going fine anyway…
