It seems that all I ever hear on this forum is "America sucks!" "French women braid their armpit hair!" "N00k Irak!!!11!ONE" "You stupid Jew!" "Conservatives eat middle eastern babies with a glass of oil for breakfast!" and "Lefties are a bunch of pussies!"

So, I've come to the conclusion that either all the hatred in the world goes straight to this forum, the average age of the posters here is about 12, or the average IQ of the members of this forum is 60. Or all three.

Does anyone have any other ideas as to why this forum is such a cesspool of hatred and unintelligent life?

Hatred is a sign that someone is stupid. Anyone who debates anyone on this forum in regards to political issues and resorts to attacking the person rather than the issue or makes baseless statments shows that they are stupid.

I am SO glad to be quickly moving away from age 12. Everybody uses that age to describe spammy idiots on the NS forums. I'm still embarrassed to be only two years past.

By the way, welcome to the club: people who like to debate logically rather than spitting insults at each other, misquoting the Bible where it doesn't apply anyway, acting like extremists from the other side of the fence represent all while expecting others to see that your moderates comprise the majority of this side, etc. etc...

I have witnessed intolerance by all parties here. To suggest that "hate" is a "leftist" tool is perhaps a tad judgemental on your part?

Having said that, I do notice a lot of anger, hate, and intolerance on this board. Having an opinion on a topic is okay, and even better it has some basis in fact. However, it is also okay for people to agree to disagree.

Far more is gained by both parties when they do in fact engage in civil discussions.

Then again, there are people who are obviously not well, and if anyone engages in discussion with them, they should be prepared to suffer the invective if there is a disagreement.

I don't think the ADL has seemed very tolerant lately.

And I saw an interview on TV with a man who was opening a "Museum of Tolerance" in NYC that week; he said he strongly opposed gay marriage.
Guess the tolerance was not universal.

Nearly everyone I see here, right or left, conservative or liberal, Democrat or Republican, falls into one huge crevasse of a category: HYPOCRITE.

No, what you just said is completely untrue. I have been completely gay my entire life, without making any choices. It's the way I'm wired, and it can't be changed. Of course, whether to live it out or not is a choice, but if I had forced myself to live a hetero lifestyle I would have been living a lie, and an unhappy one at that.
