2000 : Dems : "OMFG THESE PUNCHCARD BALLOTS ARE SO OLD WE NEED TO UPGRADE! THESE CHADS ARE NOT BEING COUNTED!"
2004 : Dems : "OMFG THESE COMPUTER BALLOTS ARE NOT BEING COUNTED WE NEED TO UPGRADE!"
It is kinda sad when they are making excuses about losing an election even before the convention...

Well, the real fraud in 2000 wasn't so much the ballots themselves.. it was people like Katherine Harris who took thousands of registered democrats off the voters list if they even shared the same last name as a person in jail or had ever been convicted of a crime. Then said "Oh it was a mistake" or the many African American voters who were blocked from voting. It still amazes me to this day why Katherine Harris was never arrested and charged with elections fraud.

Yeah and the Dems in Miami allowed thousands of illegal Hatian refugees to vote for Gore.
We can grasp at accusations all day, if you want. http://www.languish.org/forums/html/emoticons/hug.gif

Well, as you know, I'm a Canadian.. but from here it sure looked like the GOP were up to no good in Florida in 2000. I watched it all go down at the time and read just about every thing I could get my hands on about it. It also didn't help the credibility along that of all the 50 states it could of happened in , it just happened to happen in the one state that George Bush's brother also happened to be governor.. and Katherine Harris just happen to be his appointed elections officer.. that seems like a lot of "just happened" to me. You know what they say.. if some thing doesn't sound right to you.. it probably isn't.. and this one sure didn't sound right to me.

Any voting system must be auditable else it's credibility can be questioned. And anyone who has complete faith in software - and especially those who administer it - places their faith where it probably should not be.
Hey - their is a reason you still get a paper slip from a bank machine or other electronic cash transaction. That is not a Democrat vs Republican issue. That is simply an issue of verifiability.

The same thing, however, happened in New Mexico at the time. It wasn't as well documented, as it didn't have a decisive number of electoral votes. And it was decided in the most undemocratic of fashions: a poker match. Forgot who won.
Air America said most likely Max Cleland lost due to touch screen computer fraud by republicans and there was one district in Indiana where the so-called "winner" had more votes then even people who lived in the district--then we have the CEO of Diebolt telling Bush he will hand him the election...

Well people have always told me on this forum about this but no one's actually provided me with as much as a credible (any major news source, really) link. Most of the evidence I get is from a liberal-dominated panel on Civil Rights. But even that dosen't say explicitly what so many people claim. So as of now, my thoughts of it are summed up in this smiley :
To tell you the truth, I can find plenty of right-wing organizations like the New Republic or Fraud Factor and link them and say that I'm right. The point of my accusation was that I can read partisan sources and put it out there, too. Got it? http://www.languish.org/forums/html/emoticons/mf_aussie.gif

I guess Max Cleland's stalling Homeland Security in order to pander to the unions had nothing to do with his losing, right?
And since we're going to talk about having more voters than people living in a town, then it's ok to talk about Richard Dailey getting the dead to vote in Chicago in order to deliver the 1960 election to the other JFK. Or how about the voting precincts in heavily Democrat areas of St Louis that were allowed to stay open till midnight in 2000...or the Democrat activists giving cigarrettes to homeless bums to get them to the voting booths...or...

With who we vote for in America, voter fraud is just one of the many things we need to keep an eye out for...

The typical refrain of those caught with their hand in the cookie jar...awww, they do it too!!
The idea is not to be as bad as the next, the idea is that neither should cheat, and that the process looks, feels, and is totally fair.
Perhaps some nice observers from the UN or France could explain some of the fundamentals involved in a fair and democratic election, possibly even have monitors to ensure that the're is no cheating.
If you can't learn to play fair, an adult will have to make sure you don't cheat, kiddies.

...or the Democrat activists giving cigarrettes to homeless bums to get them to the voting booths...or...
While I don't doubt that this sort of electioneering occurs all the time, I still have to ask; did they also give them cigarrettes three months earlier to get them to register to vote?
Both sides electioneer, but none that isn't the point: the point is that this particular system is unaccounatable... that makes it a threat to democracy!

He also forgot to mention Bushs meddling in the El Salvador election by threatening to deport all salvadorans if the progressive candidate won
And we cant forget the fact that Geroge W. sacificed 1 thousand babies to baphomet to win the election
