TORONTO (CP) - File swappers in Canada can rest easy for the moment after a Federal Court ruling Wednesday said uploading music files into shared folders on peer-to-peer networks like Kazaa is legal.
And here I was thinking this was new news.

I would use Kazaa even if it wasnt legal but there is no reason it should be legalized. Getting songs without paying is piracy plain and simple.....and I'm a pirate.

The music industry is about making money more than it is about making music. Music isn’t art to them, it’s a job. I only buy a CD if I really like the band, otherwise I’ll just download songs that I like. Nobody is really being hurt. Sure they may not be able to buy that really expensive jet that they wanted, but they’re still better off than the majority of the people in the world.
