I just found some of my Dirty Dozen Brass Band cds, one of which has Dr. John, as with all things involving the Dozen, it kicks ass.

NEVER miss a chance to see the Dozen. Your kid will play in a lot of baseball games....

I probably only think thats funny 'cause I don't have kids...Naw--kids games are overrated, especially baseball. Lots of walks, lots of strikeouts. About the only real fun is when one of the kids manages to get the bat on the ball--then all sorts of hilarity is possible.

Unless, of course, your kid is in one of those leagues with the asshole coaches who think they're the Vince Lombardi of baseball and that they're going to teach a six year old to be a man--even if the kid's a girl.

And speaking of Doctor John, I've got his version of "Big Chief" playing right now. It's Mardi Gras up in here tonight!!!!

The albums Primative Streak, Annunciation, a self-titled, and Live at Last.

So I don't feel like I'm hi-jacking, Answering Machine Cherry Poppin' Daddies....all right, look-they're a good band. Yes, Zoot Suit Riot was annoying, but they have other songs-and most aren't 'new' swing. More like Boingo meets Blood, Sweat, and Tears.

And sad to say, "Zoot Suit Riot" is right in my karaoke wheelhouse. I make the place jump when I do that one.

Only because I respect you, I'm not gonna cap on the karaoke thing. And cause you sport the Daddies (it's not like their gonna have Diamond Light Boogie or Dr. Bones.

Well again--I'm not certain if it's on Annunciation, but if they've got "Why Can't I Forget About You?" which is what I'm listening to right now, then that's a good one--a sad sort of song, but very good. "Do Me a Favor" is also pretty good, and "Tupelo" is also pretty good. Again--not sure about the albims, but those songs are all winners.

Those songs spanned three albums, which is cool. I went with the first choice since I have a hard time with the banjo or songs that remind be of Ulee's Gold in a round about fashion...

Just having a lot of synth does not make a band industrial. Emperor uses a ton of synth, as does Cradle of Filth, but they're far from industrial.
Well, I'd disagree with these "crybaby goths" because in my opinion, Lacuna Coil are the band that immediately comes to my mind when I hear the phrase "goth rock."
