They updated the terror alert in the US!!

It has been sitting at orange for the longest time.

BUT!! There seems to be another issue, trying to discredit Richard Clarke. Hmn... Intriguing, isn't it?!

White House goes on red alert (http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentServer?pagename=thestar/Layout/Article_Type1&c=Article&cid=1080431703736&call_pageid=1038394944805&col=1038394944443)

I think at this point anyone who takes the alerts seriously deserves to be blown up by terrorists.

Its just something that was concieved so their asses would be covered if there was an attack that they couldnt predict (Among other things)

By keeping it high they can say "Well dont say we didnt warn you"

I like my Red Alerts to be of the Command and Conquer variety. When terrorists start caring about a single 16 year old kid in the suburbs of Chicago, I'll give a damn about the terror alert.

I am now sitting at home with an M-16 pointed at the door with numerous NBC devices.

The terror alert system is nothing more than the use of primary and secondary colors to strike fear into the hearts of the insipid.

The onllly sensibllle response to this is to point at young Bush-the-Hawk and his friends and say: "Lert yourselllf, boyo!"

Plllease do not ask me why I am writing in a comedy Wellllsh accent, willll you? It is because I have had a strange day, isn't it?

Fear tactics. This is a method of population control that was widely used in the f-cking middle ages. It's Feudalism for god's sake, why has no one noticed?

Hey, Nick, where are you?

The terror alert system is one of the biggest government jokes of all time. It serves no real practical purpose and effects the lives of only a few paranoid individuals. But is also does offer a false sense of security. If the government is monitoring possible terror activities, then they might have what they need to intervene and take the terrorists down before they get a chance to strike. I’m more concerned about strikes happening when the alert is low.

It never is low. Thats the point. It only exists as an attempt to proove the point "Yes, Yes this is a war in teh realest on senses"

And its pointless, if there were terrorists that were initiating a strike all jacking up the alert would do is tip them off, thus making it harder to apprehend them rather than just scare them off. It makes no sense.

The terror alert system is nothing more than the use of primary and secondary colors to strike fear into the hearts of the insipid.

It also means slower air and ground transportation, frequent checkpoints, and considerable disruption of commerce.

I hope it's necessary and not just a ploy.

I don't envy Tom Ridge. If nothing happens he looks foolish, if something does happen, he's a scapegoat.

I'm the reason they updated it. Me and the random objects I can throw.

Can, huh?

Call the terror hotline. We have possibilities here!
