Big apologies to anyone not interested (ie virtually everyone outside the UK) but has ANYONE managed to get tickets for Glastonbury? I've wasted hours of my life hitting 'refresh' on the net and 'redial' on my phone.

Bah.

All I want is to be drowned in rain, mud and the emissions from chemical toilets for three days of June. Is that too much to ask?

To be perfectly honest, I have no idea. I'm going more for the festival experience than the music itself. There's bound to be good music somewhere in a festival this big.

what are the dates for it?

I'd never go to Reading again. I went there and spent three days throwing up from a dodgy fried egg sandwhich. :|

I spent the last day of the last Glastonbury I went to trying to get stoned enough to believe that the Bootleg Beatles were the actual Beatles. Almost worked too. First time that I have ever come accross "mushroom fudge"....

Ah, 'shrooms. You know, there's one problem with them - mushrooms taste like satan's semen and they smell worse.

Anyway, I'm still trying. I actually got through to the booking form, filled it in, jumped for joy and... the server crashed. So, not only do you have to have the fortune to load the booking screen, you also have to be lucky enough for it to be accepted afterwards.

I'm very close to tears.

Some friends of mine have had big problems with trying to get tickets on the website as well.

I'd love to go to Glastonbury myself, it sounds like such a great atmosphere there. There's no way my parents would ever let me go, though.

Eek - competition!

By the way, credit cards aren't accepted, you have to use a debit card. But not Electron/Solo.

Bah. Double Bah.

Hmm, not getting much work done at the moment...

:o A friend of mine spent 7 hours getting tickets yesterday, he finally got through at 4am this morning.its chaos.

 However have patience and you may get through, or just curl up in a ball and cry, wateva floats your boat

aha! Have debit card...not sure if my bank balance will allow me to buy tickets though!!

hve you been on the Glasto forum Eco? Mostly peeps moaing about lack of tickets, dodgy touts on ebay etc. I believe they are double/triple security coding tickets this year. Still , have a look on ebay in a couple of days - there will be loads of people selling em (even though they havn't actually got the tickets in their sweating hands). Prices will be HUGE!

Good luck! if i manage to get any I will post a lovely 'naaaa na na naaaa naa' type-post here!!!!!

Well, at £115 a ticket I'm glad I got paid this week.

The web site ain't pretty! But, the security measures they've introduced should mean that there's very little touting. Still, I'm sure some lovely people will manage to screw us over.

Good luck.

*tries again.....engaged tone.....refreshes web page.....sighs and makes mental note to drink a skinful tonight*
02-04-2004, 17:58
hey you gotta have touts...otherwise what we have to moan about????? we are british after all tee hee. i s'pose we'd just have to moan about the weather& make sure we pack for hot, cold & mud baths.....

still its glatso after all HOORAH!!!

*is def drinking tonight - its FRIDAY!! - 2 short weeks coming up as well - a toast to Bank Holidays!! *

Ah, the Great British traditions - ceaseless complaining and getting legless in the pathetically short period of time we're allowed to before the pubs shut.

I'll be in Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese from about 7, supping on a stout and probably moaning about Glastonbury to anyone who'll listen.

Two four-day weeks coming up. Damn, I really am close to tears now. But tears of unalloyed joy.

STILL BLOODY ENGAGED

Gnashes teeth...

Have a great time down the pub - DONT sit there crying into your pint!! :D
