is now my new favorite cartoon :) I love seeing conservative comedy shows outside of Fox news :P AND IT'S PRODUCED BY *GASP* VIACOM!
I'll let this review article (http://tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_main/1,1002,271%7C86437%7C1%7C,00.html)sum it up:
'This Just In': Spike TV Launching Topical 'Toon
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Spike TV is taking another go at animation with a series that will incorporate recent events into its storylines.
The show will filter current events through the eyes of its central characters, a young newspaper columnist and his friends. It's scheduled to premiere at 10:30 p.m. ET Sunday, March 14.
Steve Marmel ("The Fairly OddParents," "Johnny Bravo") co-created the show with Kevin Kay, a former Nickelodeon executive who's now head of production and programming at Spike TV (both are owned by Viacom and come under the MTV Networks banner). Marmel will also provide the voice of lead character Brian Newport, a self-syndicated columnist who sees the world through conservative eyes.
"This show has a conservative bent on politics and culture," Kay says. "How many comedy programs in the television landscape -- excluding the Fox News Channel -- can claim that point of view?"
Marmel, who calls himself a "raging moderate," is also a stand-up comic and appears regularly on KABC-AM radio in Los Angeles. He's earned Annie Award and Emmy nominations for his work on "OddParents," "Johnny Bravo" and "Cow and Chicken."
Peter MacNicol ("Ally McBeal"), Phil Morris ("Seinfeld," "Wanda at Large") and Alex Meneses ("10-8") will also do voice work on the show.
Marmel plans to write most of each episode within a week of its airdate. "This Just In" will be animated using Flash, which enables animators to produce an episode in far less time than it takes to do on a traditionally animated show.
