In special news brief today, George W. Bush, the president of the United States of America, has announced that he will not persue legislation that will prevent marriages between homosexual couples. When questioned about his reasons for this sudden change of heart the president responded by saying, " I prayed about it, and the answer came to me. The Lord Jesus Christ wanted us to love each other and not throw stumbling blocks in front of our brothers and sisters in their path to love. What I was doing was motivated by my own fears and prejudices, and I could not allow that to be what steered our great nation."
States will now be allowed to decide for themselves how they want to handle the issue. Pres. Bush has also promised to pardon any judge who is prosecuted for allowing these marriages to take place.
