March 30th 2004
The threat that "we'll burn your f****** homes" was made this evening to the committee members of a working men's social club in the Tyneside town of Gateshead by a senior figure in the so-called "United Against Fascism", formerly the extreme left Anti-Nazi League.
The social club has been a popular venue for BNP meetings over the past 2 years, but the threat of having their homes targeted and their families killed, was understandably too much for the good folk of the ruling committee of Team Social in Gateshead who have not been used to this kind of violent and threatening behaviour.
The BNP meeting, which was originally planned tonight to raise funds for the Euro Elections due to take place on June 10th, was hastily rearranged to make use of a back-up venue - the Forresters Arms. However the UAF were aware of the change of location, possibly due to monitoring of mobile phone activity and a UAF mob arrived to deny access to the venue. A scuffle broke out which led to UAF assaults upon a BBC camera crew and Dr. Alan Patterson, the BNP lead candidate for the North East Region. Dr. Patterson, a private medical practitioner was allegedly knocked to the ground and had his car keys stolen from him by one member of the UAF mob.
We have been told by eye-witnesses that the leader of this anti-democratic gang is one Yunus Bakhsh, a staff nurse of Pakistani origin currently working at Newcastle General Hospital. He is a member of the extreme left wing trade union- Unison's National Executive and is also a member of the Marxist "SWP". Following complaints by Dr. Patterson and others, Northumbria Police have arrested and this evening continue to detain a number of UAF thugs.
This kind of challenge to the British democratic process serves to simply polarise those of our own kind; those Britons who value the ability to debate freely all issues and the mutual respect that we may sometimes" agree to disagree", against the wholly alien concept that political opponents have to be beaten into submission. One method wins support amongst those that value democracy, the other wins support only amongst those minority newcomers that are innately hostile to the ancient European concepts of free speech and democracy.
One positive aspect that certainly results from this evening's activity, is that, those good and thoroughly honest folk that have for the first time in their lives, been regrettably subjected to fear and hatred by a minority of thugs, will be exercising their democratic right in the privacy of the ballot booths on June 10th. Those in charge of the working mens' club, who are coming to terms with the threat of having their homes firebombed by left-wing and Pakistani extremists have made it clear which candidate they will be backing on June 10th! When Britons have their back to the wall, that is when we are at our very best!
