What religous style are you?

Klonor
31-03-2004, 17:55
Monotheistic (One God) or Polytheistic (many Gods).

I'm not going to ask anything more specific (Are you Jewish, Islamic, Buddhist, Hunduist, etc.) since there are so many divisions of religions that it'd be too confusing.

I, personally, am Monotheistic.

So, what are you?

Actually, I'm personally a Tetratheist. I believe in four gods. Not five, not three. Just four. No clue who they are, either. I just figure if they existed, there would be four of them.

reminds me of the 'holy grenade of antioch':
"First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the
number of the counting shalt be three. Four shalt thou not count,
neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three.
Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number,
be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thou foe, who being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

i don't know either way... but i figure that it's either none, or one, but not in the sense of a god separated from everything else like the christian god and the like... but like spinoza's god, in that god is the universe... or perhaps there are billions of gods. each of us being our own god.

31-03-2004, 19:13
Hmmm...Dak, out of curiousity, where do you get that the Christian God is somehow seperate from the Universe in which we, God's creations, exist? Personally, I've always felt that God and the Universe were one, in the sense that the Universe exists within God, and is permeated, influenced, and moved by God.

Anyhow...Christian, monotheist.

well, they're still divided in some sense as god is not the whole universe kind of thing. like in the christian theology, i am not god, this table is not god, the floor is not god...
god is just kind of like the little man at the controls of a remote controlled car... except the car is a universe... and is somewhat left to its own devices, free will and all.

And yet directly intervened upon, directly maniuplated, and inextricably bound to God. ;)

Indeed, even freedom to choose is a gift bestowed by God. God is not so distant, is what I'm trying to say. Indeed, God seems to be making quite the opposite effort (albeit through occasionally inept followers).

Umm, this question does not have enough options, surprisingly enough.

I guess you could call me polytheistic, but God the Eternal Father and his son Jesus Christ are above all other gods. They are the holiest of holies, the most high.

I am MONOtheistic in the sense that I worship only one God, through my elder brother, Jesus Christ.
