It's high time that somebody put a case up for us Brits. The Empire and indeed Great Britain itself has left an indelible markon the world today. The empire was responsible for democracy and liberty, the industrial revolution and the abolishment of slavery. three qaurters of the western world speak English as their first or second choice language and nearly every ex-colony of the empire became a better place to live as a result of it. I just wish that we had kept hold of the good old US of A instead of keeping a hold of Canada. Don't know what it is with us brits but we seem to like the cold! We should have left the convicts in England and all emigrated to Australia!! :twisted:
