Fallujah, Iraq April 30, 2004—Resident rebels kill US soldiers and citizens by blowing up their vehicles. Then, drag the charred bodies around the streets tied to automobile bumpers. Some dismembered bodies end up hanging from a bridge like slaughtered animals.

My reaction—Airdrop leaflets tonight, clearly written in local language;
“Since you good people are too weak and complacent to combat the brutal and criminal behavior of your fellow townsmen, we will be eliminating your city from the face of the Earth beginning at 8:00 p.m. tomorrow evening. If you wish to live, please leave the city immediately.”

At 8:00 p.m. the following night, begin aerial bombardment ala B-52 style. Follow with more of the same, and then move in the Army Corp of Engineers with the biggest bulldozers we can get and push the rubble into the holes and the rest into a pile next to the roadside. Re-pave a highway past the mound and post a sign that says, “Welcome to Fallujah—Population 0”.

What the namby-pamby politicians don’t understand is that this is how conquest is supposed to be handled. And the weak kneed liberals don’t like the word “conquest”. That’s what war is though, brute force without mercy until you’ve absolutely dominated your enemy. Then, and only then, do you dictate the terms of ceasefire, and peace. The World is a crappy place full of shitty people, just kill everybody that we don’t like and start over. Why prolong the agony?

And, in thinking further about the mysteries of life, I offer this pennance, origin unknown:

"As iron cold, and dark, and dead,
Into a furnace cast;
Warms by degrees, grows sparkling red,
And turns mere fire at last, --
So to the furnace of thy love
May my cold heart aspire,
Till, all transmuted from above, --
It glows a heavenly fire!"
