can we say, just a joke?

If I throw an egg at your house, can I expect you to giggle because it was "just a joke?" How about if I walk up to your house, see that although you're earnestly attempting to live in it, a few thousand people have thrown a few dozen eggs at your house on a nearly daily basis -- so much so that your house is almost more egg than wood -- is it "just a joke" then?

It's much easier to laugh when you don't have to deal with anything like cleaning up hundreds of stupid petitions, the resulting waste of bandwidth, additional database and server load, all kinds of things with no increase in service or availability. Play around on your own server. Or, at the least, try to be original with your pranks.

Myth: Online petitions mean something.

What makes you think that the petitions are even sent to a person of influence? and if they are, what makes you think they go straight to that person's DELETED folder unread? and even if it's not, what makes you think that person won't read the first few lines THEN delete it with an irritated look at the screen?
