I'm 22 in less than a month! It's awful! I'll be going on David Urquhart trips to Skye next!

NB:David Urquhart is a bus company that takes old age pensioners to destinations around Britian... think they're a Scottish company, but my granny says I've to shoot her if ever she goes on one. At 67, she feels that she's too young to go to such things!

Wish I had YOUR optimism! I'm deathly afraid Bush will, if he feels he cannot win...will stage another attack on the level of 9/11, declare martiall law, suspend the elections, and name himself dictator! Or he'll use black box voting to steal the election again.

You heard it here first. I put NOTHING past the dishonest creepy monsters on the right (meaning opposite of left...not meaning CORRECT) side of the political spectrum.

You and I are about the same age, then...because I vivdly remember fearing a draft call for the First Gulf War, too. And I ended up voting Clinton in 92, but originally supported Perot as a protest vote against Bush, when I believed Clinton could not win. Remember, at the time Bush the Elder was riding a cloud of popularity over the Gulf War...and I had supported Jerry Brown in the Dem. Primaries in 1992.

After Perot dropped out and then came back into the race, I switched allegiance to Clinton. Bu that was the same vote I'm casting in November...a vote AGAINST BUSH!

I too remember the Carter administration, although I'd be lying if I said it was vivid. I remember that election vaguely, but all presidential elections tend to stand out because my birthday always falls right around that time. I had the misfortune to have it fall on election day in 2000--what a way to turn 31. (looks more like a barfy smiley than an oops one to me)

It's not just you: and it looks like all Reagan's birdies are coming home to roost, but, that's okay, there are more local warlords to arm and train in their place, and they shouldn't get out of hand until about 2024...

How could people under 9 understand this game.
30-03-2004, 18:37
Actually, my 9 year old daughter has been asking for a nation of her own in NS; she debates my issues with me, reminds me to keep track of the UN resolutions... I think I will let her form a nation, then just let her run it. 8)

Someone asked if anyone here had been a hippie... Since I usually lie about my age online, it's hard for me to admit this, but Salishe has made me more comfortable with admitting my age. :) ... I guess I'd qualify as a hippie in the 70's. I took part in the Nam protests, did a lot of 'hippie' type things, and dressed very comforably. LOL!!

I usually don't tell my age in message boards because it seems most people in these forums are young, and don't really respect the opinions of their elders.
