I just got back from LA. My school choir went on a trip there (18 hour drive from Redding) to sing at some places. First, we sung at a Catholic School, then the next day, we sung at THE Crystal Cathedral-- you know, the one that is on "the Hour of Power." After that, we went to the largest cathedral in the USA, and sung there. The next day, we spent about 12 hours at Disneyland.
My choir has been invited back to the Crystal Cathedral to appear on "the Hour of Power." The date hasn't been finalized yet, but I pray that it will be this year so that I can go.
Oh yeah, I go to a public school, not a religious one, just in case you were wondering.

But, good job, and welcome back...
What voice part do you sing?

What's a public school doing by sending its students to all these stupid religious places?!
But, good job. I can't sing. ;) But still, I demand to know why public schools are sending kids to sing at religious events!

Hmmm. Interesting. Not trying to hijack the thread, congratulations to our poster, but it is interesting that this may be a cause for concern. In the UK (and I’m bound to be corrected here) there is no problem with public schools performing at religious events. They can perform at Christian, Muslim or any other faith based event. It reflect the multiculturalism of the UK. It also exposed children to a variety of cultures and thoughts. Can’t see it as a bad thing as long as we have no indoctrination taking place.
Any chance of the posters group making it to some international comps. There are some fantastic cathedrals in the UK?
But I digress ramble and whiter, as it my want.
