My friend Anti-Flag, I believe you are one of those people who beleive that they are anarchists because they listen to punk music and dress that part. Do you, nay, CAN you grasp the real meaning of anarchy? It isn't all about disorder, chaos or violence. That is the wrong path of anarchy. That is what people think when they hear anarchy. Real anarchy is practised through civil disobedience and non-violent protest.

You've heard of the punk bands who call themselves anarchist. But have you heard of the real anarchists? Are you familular with Henry David Thoreau? He was a real anarchist, not the bargin-bastment fake crap you find in punk culture. He talks about bringing down the governement, an integeral part of "anarchy culture" that the general uninformed public sees, but his was the proper way. Throeau speaks only of bringing down irresponsible or negligent governments, when it is needed, by non-violent methods.

Other anarchists are not from the 1980s, as they are typically thought of being from, but the late 1800s. They didn't have huge, rediclious hair styles, nor where they violent. They tought effective, peaceful ways of bringing down governments, and the church in order to obtain complete freedom for the people. In fact, Gahdi was the student of one of these true anarchists.

So, until you can speak knowledgably about anarchy, don't speak of it at all. I am an informed anarchist, following the teachings of Throeau. It is the true and right path of anarchy.

doesnt this guy sound like that winchester dude?I'm sorry, I've never heard of "MASH", but I have heard of "M*A*S*H". I am indeed familiar with the show, and "this guy" does not sound like Charles Emerson Winchester III at all. Winchester is pompous. "This guy" is not.

And that's the stuff they don't teach about Thoreau in English class.

That would be from "Walden", correct? I happen to have a copy with his "Civil Disobedience" essay as well. That would be something to bring up in class during disscussion. Just mention he was an anarchist and watch them go ballistic.

Wahahahaha!!!

Before you do however, I suggest you read up on anarchist principals in case some wise-ass tries to make a fool of you. See if you can find a copy of "Anarchism: Political Innocence or Social Violence?" by James D. Forman. Its a very good book and should give you enough intellectual ammunition in the case of a debate occuring.

Hmmm, Anti-Flag seems to have missed my diatribe.

I'm sure a debate would occur. It always does in that class. You should see all the people getting so emotionally involved and looking so depressed when they find out that they're morons.

Oh, I've seen it all right. Just look at that original post! I've had people breaking down, dropping out of class discussions or debates, stuf like that. I guess you could say I'm a master debater!

What is wrong with a little recruitment thread. I just want more people into my region.

What I meant when I said that my region was all of those things but unorganized, I meant that my region was unorganized. I did not mean that because my region is of anarchy that it is unorganized. If that made any sence that is what I mean. I do want my region tobecome organized but we aren't all on the same page yet.
Um and unlike the stereotipical anarchist I do not have spikes in my nose or glue in my hair. Giving you a quote from my favoroite band Anti - flag: "I've never seen an anarchist with such perfect hair, or somany ten dollar spikes or so much punk rock gear.... A-N-A-R-C-H-Y so punk that he's a poser and he will be one 'till he dies." That was about the anarchist that I am not. I did like your point though and I am not an ignorant anarchist that thinks that anarchy is unorganized. My region is unorganized not because it is anarchic.
I did like your word, though, diatribe. Thats a cool word. I think that I will add it to my vocabulary.
