this really depends on your personality. if you prefer the honest approach: you can bring them together, explain the situation, and maybe say that you need time to think. (or something that you would prefer, like more time with both to find which you like more) then you can observe which one cares more about your emotional state right now. like if they are understanding and cooperative or maybe tell you that they understand and are willing to back out of a relationship. these one's are usually the keepers. they genuinely care about how you feel and are willing to take steps to make your life better even at their own expense.

Anyway, I think it's time you woke up and smelled the coffee of real life: unfortunately, people do fall out of love with each other and/or fall in love with someone else - that's human nature.
What defines the person is how they deal with it: the responsible thing to do is inform your current partner that you have feelings for someone else and not sneak around behind their back.

Well, not necessarily. But I wouldn't recommend polyamoury,and in any event The Sadistic Skinhead is off to a very bad start. His relationship with his friend is not something he should keep from his girlfriend, and if he thought his girlfriend might object, he shouldn't have done anything with his friend. Likewise, he should have told his friend about his girlfriend. The Sadistic Skinhead may not choose with who he is in love, but he is responsible for his behavour. As I see it he has wronged both of the people he is involved with. I really don't know how to go about fixing things, but I would suggest he apologize to and beg forgiveness from both people, and be willing to distance himself from his friend if his girlfriend (as is likely) so desires. But I am out of my depth.

Well, if you derived sexual pleasure from it, then yes, TSS, it is cheating. Part and parcel of being boyfriend and girlfriend is a pact that if sexual pleasure is to be sought, it only comes in the form of being with each other, or in the rare eventuality that another person is involved, that such contact comes with the blessing of your boyfriend/girlfriend. I'm assuming you haven't mentioned the caning to your girlfriend, right? If you didn't already know that it was cheating, then you would have been just fine mentioning it to her, and you wouldn't be asking the question here. As for the question of who to go with, this is a tougher one, and my only advice is to look for the woman with your best interests at heart. Sometimes it might be the case that there is another woman out there who really truly loves, while your girlfriend just keeps you around for comfort, sex, or some other selfish reason. If that's the case, then you should go with the woman who loves you as opposed to simply uses you. On the other hand, there are lots of women who will just try to screw their girlfriends out of a great guy, but could really care less about the guy himself (and don't kill me for speaking the truth, ladies, I'm just the messenger. If this weren't the case, you wouldn't be so consistently jealous of our affection). If that's the case, then I would stick with your girlfriend.
If it the case that they are equally committed, I would stick with my girlfriend out of principle. But that's just me.
