Because I'd really like to see it. The last bit of gossip I heard was that Alec Baldwin was somehow involved in production, maybe funding...

The only way to really know is to look on your local theater's marquee. If you see a movie by the title of Jennifer Government, then it's out.

Well, I don't even think that they have started filming, so it will be a long time yet.

There is Alec Baldwin's line up, nothing there look or sounds like the book.

A search on Pro IMDB doesn't come up with anything for: Jennifer Governemt, Max Barry, Nation States, or anything else I could think of that might be used as a name. I think the movie is FAR off, as in not even announced, forget casting people, and definately forget even filming.

For the producers, I think the hardest part will be to get the okay from the Nike CEO's ... :lol:

* sigh *

Stupid Hollywood - and product placing - it's going to take a lot of money to get this movie up and running.

I don't mean to be negative, but I very much doubt if a single second will ever be filmed.

Besides, it's been in development for well over a year... with no results to speak of...

Like that has stopped any other movies from being filmed. Just look at that football movie with Cameron Diaz (Sunday something?) It showed the dark side of football and the NFL refused to allow them to use real team names. So they just made some team names up

We should get [violet] to give us some concrete information regarding the film. That way we'll know.

I play another free online game called the hollywood stock exchange. It has this to say about a possible movie:

"Jennifer Government is an adaptation of the satiric novel from Max Barry about American consumerism. In a future where you can claim your employer as your identity, Hack Nike refuses to shoot teenagers as part of an ad campaign and is soon pursued by a crazed agent named Jennifer Government. Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney will produce through Section Eight. "

I've gotta agree with the Hack on this one. Moore is only good at movies in the same respects that O'Reilly is good at yelling.

I don't think a movie was mentioned in the book. You're probably referring to the dedication. If you go over the book very carefully, you'll notice that the word "capitalism" is spelled with a zee/zed, apparently a joke about the American spellings "realize," "tantalize," "dramatize," "capitalize," etc.

That may be true but Max told us that a movie company had come to him about turning the book into a movie.

Hugo Weaving should be John Nike. Throughout the book I envisioned him looking like Agent Smith :)
