Sequel to JG?

Out of curiousty, am I the only one who thinks there was enough left up in the air in Jennifer Government for a sequel, or even a prequel, to be written?
I mailed Max quite a while back on this. Unfortunately he's not going to write a sequel to Jennifer Government.
The only way we'll get a sequel is if the film is successful and they decide to do one for that :(

That's horrible, Myrth. It makes me sad, because the book has so much to it. Perhaps, he'll write a sequel if the movie does well, instead of letting Hollywood write it.

But the books ending makes it seem as if a sequel is on the agenda. Perhaps he doesn't want us to know until it is finished.

To be honest, I liked how it ended. I'd by a sequel, but I'd rather see one on something else.
Say perhaps us.
. . . or me. :P

I can see that that's arguable, but I think on balance that the ending is to show us that stability has been restored and that's it...

Or so Max wants us to think! :D

But could it be a dystopian novel on its own then?
Look at the great dystopian novels : We, Brave New World, Animal Farm, 1984, A Clockwork Orange. All single novels. Dunno about Kaska's books though.

What's a 'dystopian' novel?

What's a 'dystopian' novel?
A novel that takes place in a negative utopia.

I think JG is fine as it is, although you wouldn't see my cry if he came out with a sequel. I'm more interested in reading his books that explore other avenues; JG was fascinating but I don't know how much better and/or differently interesting a sequel could be.

Have you tried Syrup?
And apparently, Max has a third book coming out soon.
There is a third book coming out soon. Check out www.maxbarry.com
I thought that Jennifer Government finished nicely, with little requirement for a sequel. The heroine succeeded, the villain got his just deserts.

Um, no, but... it's on my list? Actually, the only reason I got around to reading JG was that it was a gift from someone. I don't get out to the bookstores very often.
And yeah, I heard about his third novel. Should be another good read. But Syrup first, I guess ;)

If that's true you'll probably have to go onto somewhere like amazon to get it.

Really? I'm always in bookstores when I get the chance. If my parents want to leave me somewhere outside of the house, it's usually in a bookstore.
And yes, do read Syrup.
Or we will crucify you!
Which reminds me, you gotten around to reading it yet CE?

No, not Amazon!
Amazon = Big Evil Chain Corporation.
Don't help these people find their antics! Then Max will write more material that I have to read. :P
Seriously, use BookSense (http://www.booksense.com), a coalition of independent bookstores, if you're gonna buy on line. Support your local book dealers.

No. I don't really have the money at the moment. I'm paying out for a lot of things and I owe a couple of hundred pounds to my parents (that's what you get for having expensive taste!). Plus, I need all my money for spending money on my trip. :D
