So glad I bought it

I haven't read it, but I"m doing pretty well on the site. What, exactly, is it about?

It is a light-hearted satire on the corporate world that threatens to emerge from present-day reality. In NS terms, I suppose it would be the sort of world in which large corporations take the place of sovereign states and carry out their own law enforcement, have their own education programmes, etc.

And it's a very good book, so buy it! :D

I can proudly say that I also have bought and read the book, and it was this site that caused me to gain an interest in the book. The plan works on some people.

Well, it has in a way in that they are both about extreme politics etc and Max set up this website based on JG.

I rather enjoyed the book. i giggled the whole way through it, and then forced my wife to read it - and she loved it too ;)

One thing I was disappointed in though - the ending fell a little more flat than I was expecting - it seemed too sudden. And what happend with Hack, Violet and Claire?? Inquiring minds NEED to know!! :P

Other than that, it was a great book, and I'm highly recommending it to all my firends ;)

And yes, it was this site that fostered my interest in the book ;)
And if you've read the book and played this game, you can definitely see how ideas from the book translate into the game.

Maybe Max Barry's viral marketing strategy really did work. Everyone says they heard of the game by word of mouth from friends and relatives, and a lot of people went on to buy the book out of curiousity. Not bad, he still knows his marketing. I wonder how many copies it has sold so far. Anyone know?

Why does everybody keep asking about Hack and Claire? I think it's pretty obvious. Hack and Claire hook up and live a happy life and Hack drops his new "assertive" ways.

I agree with Catholic on this one, thats what I saw as well.

I feel bad because I borrowed it from a friend rather than buying it. It was quite good though, just finished it a few minutes ago. I love a happy ending, and the author gave us one.

About how much is the book at Barnes and Noble?

Go buy it! or to make up, go buy Syrup. Apparently it's just as good as JG.

I actually saw the book at the nearby Waldenbooks. Knowing this exists and can be found in some bookstore - not just online - might get it. Somehow I just got the interest suddenly.

That's not entirely true, it's a spinoff from JG and whilst it doesn't stick rigdly to it, they are both alike.

I think Max definetly had Jennifer Government strongly in mind. Remember, in Jennifer Government, there were countries like France that didn't get involved in the whole corporate set-up. That leaves room for similar countires in NationStates. Since they are both about exaggerated politics, it actually works out pretty well.
