Who will play Hack Nike in the film?
Or John or Violet or Billy or Buy etc etc etc. Who would be most suited?
John Nike (both): Orlando Bloom
Hack Nike: Antonio Banderas
Jennifer Government: Jennifer Garner
Billy NRA: Robin Williams
Buy Mitsui: Eddie Murphy
Meh, who knows. I haven't read the book yet so I may have totally mixed this up. :?

Violet - Rachel Griffiths!
She plays the seriosuly screwed-up Brenda Chenowith in Six Feet Under. A female sociopath - no better actress.
Or John or Violet or Billy or Buy etc etc etc. Who would be most suited?
John Nike: Hugh Grant
Hack Nike: Tobey Maguire
Jennifer: Carrie-Anne Moss
Violet: Reese Witherspoon
Billy: guy who played Colossus in X-Men 2
Hack Nike: Edward Norton
Billy NRA: Jack Black
Pepsi Kid: Toby Maguire
John Nike: Gary Oldman - think 'Leon'. C'mon, you know I'm right!
I'll run with Carrie-Anne Moss for Jennifer, and Rachel Griffiths is absolutely perfect for Violet - top left-field thinking there, TG...
- Chris.
John Nike: Gary Oldman - think 'Leon'. C'mon, you know I'm right!
dat is tru dat.
(the other) John Nike: Bruce Willis - just like a door to door salesman/marketing exec, his credibility has worn thin - perfect.
Hack Nike: yeah, Edward Norton.
Buy Mitsui: Jude Law.
Jennifer Government: Cate Blanchette - right mix of vulnerability, sex appeal and kick arseness?
Violet: Kiera Knightley
Definitely Rachel Griffiths for Violet. And Jennifer Garner is good for Jennifer, I thought of her a lot while I was reading. However she might look too young - Cate Blanchet is a good choice.

When I was reading JG, I kept picturing the non-coma John Nike as Niles Pender in Mr. Destiny (played by Hart Bochner).
That guy who played Agent Smith in The Matrix for me...

Oh, man! You read my mind! When I was reading the book, I kept picturing Violet as Rachel Griffiths. And, funnily enough, I kept picturing Claire as Lauren Ambrose, who plays the character Claire in Six Feet Under. The personalities of Claire in Jennifer Government and Claire in Six Feet Under seemed very similar to me.
Ah, too much Six Feet Under. :) But I guess it is, after all, the greatest television show ever.

Ahh... Six Feet Under..
I thought of Claire as her too! I'm a bit ashamed that my imagine only has the capacity to visualise a government agent named Jennifer G as an actress named Jennifer G (who plays a government agent) and a character called Claire as a character called Claire... She needs to be a little older though.
what about Andy Serkis (gollum) as Hack? hes got the look in real life of what i saw hack like

I completely agree on Hack being played by Edward Norton.
Hey, I've got an idea, how about everyone post pictures of their 'Hack' so we can compare?
Hack- Charlie Sheen
Violet- Gwenyth Paltrow
Hayley McDonalds should be the Olsen Twins
Jennifer Government- Delta Goodrem
Thats all I have.
Hayley McDonald will be played by two people? :?

I am also confused.
Either of the Olsen girls would be too old to play Hayley. They turn 18 next year you know. Ok, here are my ideas:
Hack Nike- Jack Black (Shallow Hal)
Violet- Katie Holmes
John Nike- Tim Roth
John Nike (coma)-the guy who plays Agent Smith in the Matrix
Jennifer Government- Jennifer Garner
Hayley McDonalds- Hilary Duff
Buy Mitsui- Heath Ledger
Billy NRA- the guy who plays Dante in Clerks
Claire Sears- Eliza Dushku
Guys, Billy NRA was a big guy. Not fat big, muscular big. people keep listing overweight and out of shape people. [Jack Black, the Dante guy (What was his name?)] He might not have acted huge and macho, but he was pretty big.

I think scrawny people keep getting mentioned because Billy NRA was, essentially, a whiny little punk. He had natural shooting talent, but about all the more he ever did was bitch about why he wanted to go skiing, hence people wanting to have Brian O'Halloran play him.

Hugh Grant? Whats wrong with you?
Billy NRA might have been whiny (and a pansy) but he was big. It doesn't matter what he acted like, the fact was that he was a big, muscular guy.
I'd go with Edward Burns for Hack.

He looks a bit too confident for Hack. I think Burns might be better for one of the Johns.

He is an actor. He's paid to act the part. I dont think an actore 'looking too confident' should be a problem. Not that he looks like how I envision Hack.
People who should be in it:
Edward Norton
Ed Harris
John Leguizamo
Uma Thurman
Steve Buscemi
Christopher Walken (that should be on the top of the list)
Johnny Depp (If for no reason than to have Johnny Depp)
Bill Murray
Dan Akroyd
It's good Clooney/Soderbergh are doing this because Solaris was a very cool film.

Not much in this forum to dig. In this case it's not much of a problem.

Well, since it's already dug up, I think it'd be great to see Jennifer Government made into a more Sundance-esque film than an overdone Hollywooded-out production (please excuse my improvised vocabulary). Seems like good books lose even more quality when produced in the latter fashion.

Name one. Both LoTR and Harry Potter are brilliant books and brilliant films.
