:D

I've ordered a copy and waiting for the postman to deliver it... wish it would hurry up as I'm currently out of books for reading on the tube/bus and its hellish having to endure London traffic with nothing to look at other than cyclists kicking the sides of vans as taxi drivers try to mow them down.... ahhh for the sunny climes of NSW where I caught a ferry to work and was rewarded with a sunrise just as the Opera House came into view...

OK, back to reality... Hey! It's lunch time!!

:x Hey London's a wonderful city! I should know, I have lived here all my life! :D

I'm kinda irritated...I can't find a copy near where I live.

And I only live right next door to the largest city in Scotland!

[Note: That's Glasgow, not Edinburgh.]

Bloody hell...there isn't a shop in a city of, what, half a million people that don't sell Jennifer Government? Have you looked hard enough?

It's all academic now. I have a copy. From a branch of waterstones!

What do you mean its out!!!
I've been in 3 book shops and they hav'nt even heard of it! Its 11 pm out here in the UK and I'm going out right now to look for a copy or 6!

Wait that sounds like hard work... I'll do it tomorow. I plan on buying 3 copies by the end of the week but I can only afford 2 because I need to but the last book in the Foundation Saga. Darn Asmorf!

Been out in the UK for 11 days.

Perhaps it's buried under a pile of Harry Potter books.

I just heard Jennifer Government came in at #29 on the bestseller list in the UK, so it must be selling somewhere! :)

However, I do have a copy so...

1) I meant Asmov not Asmof
2) All three of my local book shops are out and so are two seperate suppliers! I can't get a copy untill 5th August!!!
3) I never thought this topic would be so popular!
4) 5th of August!!!! Come on!!! I mean thats sooooo unfair!

Jeezuz, it's been in the news enough with Prince William attending the university.

Anyway, have those who can't get a copy at the moment considered ordering it online?

As far as I can tell Jennifer Government hasn't had much impact at all in Britain from people who've never heard of NS (and even those whp have!)

Done. 8)
Waterstones (big bookstore chain) in Sutton had a whole bookshelf full of Jennifer Government books, so it must be selling pretty well. :D
25-07-2003, 15:43
surely if it had a shelf full of books, then it's not selling well?

anyway, screw waterstones, my nice independent bookshop ordered me a copy. and it doesn't have a "proud to be fiercely independent" sign, nor a "going out of business" sign...
Gebraltica

No, it means they ordered a whole bunch of copies because they thought it was going to sell well.
Besides, I bought it on the day it came out here.

My First post ever 0_0

Anyway, I finally got around to buying and reading it today *looks at clock* uhh, yesterday. And its a brilliant book.

One thing though, and its trivial but in my opinion the book is to tall, it could do with being shorter and thicker (im talking about Phisical dimenions here)

I wonder if this is specific to the UK publisher and there edition of the book, but its weird anyway.

O... Y... F... G... !!!!! Jennifer Government RULES!

Wow! WOW!! WOW!!!

PS: This has become a v. popular topic especially as I thought it would be deleted straight away.
PPS: wow
PPPS: Its a great book
pppps: It would be more manageable if it was shorter (dimensions) and not double spaced instead of thicker but I wouldn't change anything if it was up to me.

PPPPPS: Some b**** spilt water on my copy after I finished reading it but the pages didn't warp and the print didn't smudge. Now that’s Capitalizt kwality
