Has anyone heard whether the publishers met their goals for week one sales? Has made the bestseller list?
The local bookstores haven't gotten it in yet, so I don't think it has. I would love to buy it once they get it, but it's not even on order yet. (And, being a man of principle, I'll only buy from independent local booksellers, not chains or internet megastores.)

I'd like to use my first post ever to applaud your principles. I work for a used book store and, as such, avoid the chains at all cost. Kudos to you.
Unfortunately, it seems the only way to obtain a copy of Jennifer Government, for now at least, is to give in. Which I will not.
Isn't there a link in the purchasing section that lets you buy online from an affiliated local independent bookstore?

Most independent book stores in the US & Canada will have copies -- and if they don't, they can get it in.

It's abrilliant marketing idea for the book, I'm sure they're sold MANY more copies then they would have, I suggest you inform some of the media (unless you already have) about what you're doign to promote your book and how huge this site has become.. I personally am responsible for at least 50 others joining in less then 2 days... so I should have som say.
Plus I'm a graphic designer working for a well known (in Western Australia) web development company. I've also had some ideas of this nature, so I'm glad someone has put it together, I think it could make a whole lot of moey too given that they have a dedicated team of developers working on improving and adding functionality. This is gold! Good on you Max.

the site may have traffic, but most of the visitors r complaining and asking for changes s can b seen in the un resolutions and message in the forums. while zikzak, geoff wong and zik saleeba's r deservedly fast getting a reputation for not being able 2 deliver the goods, maxx is also getting a bad rep and is suffering in lost sales and profits because he is associated with this site.
