Will NationStates keep going after the book hits stores?

I am just wanting to know, are we just playing til 1/21/03 or is this gonna run forever, well not forever, but you know after we buy the book. :?:
This game is a great marketing tool for the book and it will continue to be a great marketing tool after it's release, so I don't think NationStates is going anywhere :)
Who knows, the book might end up being a good marketing tool for this game ;)
Don't you think the longevity of this website will depend on how much marketing mileage for the book they can get? Actually, this website game was a stroke of genius on someone's part. Cudos to them. After it is released and we all start reading it, it will be interesting to see if the book influences the game.

I want the game to stay around as long as people are interested in playing it, but we'll see. Put it this way: the more of you who go out and buy the Jennifer Government novel (http://www.maxbarry.com/jennifergovernment/buy.html), the more chance we'll stick around. ;)

I notice Jennifer Government is due to be published in the UK on July 3, so I look forward to it.
I was hoping it would stick around until I buy the book which as I live in England won't be until July unfortunately.
I live in the UK, but I've ordered a copy from the US from amazon.com - sod waiting till July, if I buy it this week, I might be helping Jennifer Government to get into the New York Times bestseller list :)
July for a book in the same fucking language. Someone in the publishing industry needs to be shot...lol

Yes, it's a shame that the UK publisher decided to push back the release date so far... it'll be worth the wait, though, I hope. :)
well i ordered it from my library and they ordered like 7 copies so you must be getting some publicity considering they normally only buy 2 copies of the same book
I bought it in the US the day it came out. I hope they ship more copies there than they did here. I found three copies in the entire Birmingham metro area. Does anyone know if it ranked at all on any of the best seller lists?

*summons covert ops to kill the bastard*
I am off to buy the book on Wednesday myself. Local bookstore has got a copy on hold for me. :D

In _that_ case it'll probably be next year before it hits the shops here in New Zealand  ... amazon.com, here we come methinks.
My hopes would be that in case it stays around we'll get some more questions/issues to choose from, I'm not sure if there's some randomization to them as I've heard the number 30 mentioned, but I can't remember seeing more than some 5'ish...
Some hundred issues would be getting somewhere, so you get some complexity instead of just population growth :)
There are a lot of little bugs in the system. There's the issues, for one, and then there's...oh, say, if all enterprise it outlawed but there's a slick black market for Woodchips, it's not impossible that you'll get an issue like "Woodchip Industry workers go on strike!" But if it's a black market....
Of course, beggers can't be choosers, and I still think NationStates is really fun *anyway*. But it would be nice to see a few updates to the system in the future. ^_^
I tried purchasing the book this past weekend, but I can't find a store around here that stocks it, even though the lady was really nice and offered to order it, I didn't have time. I'll have to buy it off Amazon when I get the shipping money.
Well I certainl;y hope you keep this site running. If you decide at one point that its not increasing your book sales anymore you probably get enough hits that a little add at the top would be able to support it nicely. :D
