Draft to propose seperate Regional Assemblies

AssStoneria
07-04-2009, 14:04
We the Nation of AssStoneris, representing the region of Stonerville, do hereby propose the formation of separate regional assemblies.

NOTING that some regions have local jurisdictional issues that need to be addressed, debated, and voted on, in an area septate from, yet still moderated by, the World Assembly

ACKNOWLEDGING that laws passed by the World Assembly can't/shouldn't always be enforced by the local regional and national authorities

FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGING that some laws will need "refining" based on the local needs of regional government.

DECLARING AS OBVIOUS that this will ease local tensions as well give an added benefit to "game play"

RESOLVES:

1) To form a separate entity, that though regulated by the World Assembly, will act on issues solely concerning regional government.

2) That this Regional Assembly will consist of already seated members of the World Assembly who wish to act on issues concerning the World and their local Region alike.

3) That though this Regional Assembly will be moderated by the World Assembly, will have Jurisdictional rule over regional legislation.

(I have done my best not to contradict anything and am submiting this as a draft as suggested. Please let me know what needs to be added, fixed, or changed, or if this is even valid.)

You can't mention things like regions and "game play" in a WA resolution. If you're trying to do with this what I think you're trying to do (create regional assemblies in-game), there's no way to make it legal.

I suggest you find another subject to write a proposal on.

Also, read the rules for WA proposals: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=420465

We imagine that this is completely illegal, we recommend that the honoured Ambassador for AssStoneria become familiar with the rules regarding resolutions here- http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=420465

Aundotutunagir and Urgench are right, it would be illegal, for the reasons they have given. In the link they have given you, read the section on proposal violations, especially the parts on "game mechanics" and "metagaming".

The bit on "joke proposals" would be of benefit, too, unless I completely misread your "bribes" proposal. Basically, joke proposals are okay to post on the forum, but not okay to submit, since that will usually get you a warning for an illegal proposal.

Is this clause We the Nation of AssStoneris, representing the region of Stonerville, do hereby propose the formation of separate regional assemblies. just an introduction to this thread, or is it supposed to be a part of the actual proposal? If the latter's the case then we can also add 'branding' to the reasons why this proposal would be illegal...

I think that's just the introduction to the thread and the preamble begins below that.

Even if this wasn't illegal (which it is), I fail to see the point. Regions can form their own "assemblies" already. The region I'm in, for example, already has a Senate that has "jurisdictional rule over regional legislation". I also can't imagine why we'd want it to be "moderated by the World Assembly".

As Altan Steppes says; regional governemnts exist in most regions. Indeed, my region have just held their elections. This proposal is just plain silly.

However, if this is the way you write proposals, then I will be happy to consider a more serious proposal.
