The Republic of Heroica strongly feels that space should be open for all to peacefully explore. Therefore, I have proposed the following:
Description: Be it agreed that:
1: Space should be open for all nations to explore
2: Space should not be considered the exclusive domain of any nation
3: the World Assembly endorses the right of any nation to peacefully explore Space
4: the exploration of space should be for the benefit of all mankind
Therefore, be it resolved that all World Assembly members pledge not to engage in the practice to place weapons of any kind it space.
Article 1:
(a) For the purposes of this resolution space shall be defined as a distance from sea level to 80 – 85 km (265,000 – 285,000 ft) to 640+ km (400+ mi) commonly called the Thermosphere.
(b) For the purposes of this resolution weapon shall be defined as any offensive or defensive construct of a conventional, nuclear, or Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission (Laser)
Article 2:
Each member state of the World Assembly:
(a) pledges not to place weapons in space for any reason.
(b) to condemn any non-member Nation that places weapons in space.
Article 3:
Excluded from this agreement is any system of a conventional, nuclear or, Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission (Laser), that are used for the propulsion or power system of an exploratory space craft. Provided that the nation can justifiably prove to the World Assembly that its deployment to space is of a peaceful and exploratory means.
Hopefully, the Honoured Regional Delegates will feel the same as our nation, and will endorse this, in our opinion, worthy proposal.
