Regional Delegates please Apporve of and Endorse the Proposal, Repeal "World Assembly Headquarters"

Repeal "World Assembly Headquarters"

A proposal to repeal a previously passed resolution

Category: Repeal

Resolution: #8

Proposed by: Aniane

Description: WA Resolution #8: World Assembly Headquarters (Category: Political Stability; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: Understanding, how 'World Assembly Headquarters' was created to further the WA and it's "International Goodwill" by giving it a Headquarters.

Acknowledging, this is a good Idea and that the WA should be entitled a headquarters but

Noting, that creating an Office of Building Management that has the Ability and Powers of a "Self Sustaining Entity" seems to undermine the World Assembly's "International Good will" By giving the WA it's own Territory to Govern and Charge Rent of However much it may want to nations whom wish to be Heard and Represented in the WA.

Finally Noting, that whether or not a nation or region sends "international envoys of "drunks, stoners, weirdos, military fruitcakes, sex addicts, rejects, dear little kiddies, honest family types" and militant machistas" is up to them and is there sole discretion to do so.

So this Act of the WA hereby repeals WORLD ASSEMBLY RESOLUTION #8, World Assembly Headquarters.

Approvals: 10 (Jimmy Hart, Gibraltenstein, Ingramston, Ives-Maxima, Architeuthis, Crimmond, Delopia, The Brusselers frites, Brettonia Enforcers, American Woman)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 91 more approvals)

Voting Ends: Tue Jul 29 2008

Why do people insist to trying to remove our right to exist? Not that repealing "World Assembly Headquarters" would change the status of our existance one iota.

Our people have nearly finished building the place: It should only be another couple of weeks*, or thereabouts, before they'll be ready to hand it over to WA Building Management for furnishing and the allocation of premises.

Do not repeal it please. I do want to visit the building when I have time.

It will be a waste of all the efforts getting this building when it will be repealed before finishing. Maybe you can wait a few months, visit the building, maybe enjoy it and start a repeal after that if you still think it has to be repealed.

Wait, what? You guys are doing what? We didn't hire you to do anything. We're handling the construction in-house to give our employees something to do besides sit in the Stranger's Bar drinking.

Sirs,

I don't recall any exclusivity contracts being awarded to WA Building Mgmt.

OBM accepted the Frisbeeterian proposal for heavy duty hovercranes and a couple hundred containers of carbon fiber micro-laminate framing members for the General Assembly Hall. We've already been paid by wire transfer, and the materials are on site.

You might want to check back with the General Contractor. I believe he's the gnomish-looking fellow with the gold hard hat.

What are we going to do with 690 million miles of pink stinkweed scented TP for the restrooms in this place if they never build it. We refuse to return payment and don't care where the durn paper goes if they do close down building this place.

Any construction site need grade five sandpaper in pink we can supply them should this fall through.

I don't know how any of you could be building anything, since the WA finally accepted my generous offer to host the organization in the basement of a Paradise City crackhouse, which unfortunately was raided by authorities the very next day, and as a result you've all have been flung in jail awaiting federal drug charges. It's rough in the joint -- I should know -- and it's getting rougher, what with Cdr. Chiang declaring all of you "dangerous fluffies" and indefinitely detaining you as terror suspects, but the Supreme Court's recent ruling that the government cannot detain terror suspects without trial has given us a faint glimmer of hope that we can secure your release sometime within the next 35 years. Keep those fingers crossed, people!

Secretary Riley,

You must be insane. Or snorting out of the wrong baggie. A thorough review ... okay a cursory glance ... of the record shows no acceptance of such an offer. Nor would we associate "generous" with your government under any circumstances. Granted the scenery of ... wherever this is ... isn't stellar, but we doubt seriously that it dips to that of an OMGTKK prison.

Give our regards to Jenny ...erm Commander Chiang.

OOC: St Edmund publicly volunteered to provide the contruction workforce without charging the WA anything for this, in an earlier thread (probably the one for Resolution #8), and neither 'WA Building Management' (which was active around then...) nor anybody else said no; I've posted at least one update on the work since then, and neither 'WA Building Management' nor anybody else said then that my people weren't doing the job. So now, when they would pretty much have finished, people want to say that they never started?!?

Well, if folks actually want to say that it's being built by somebody else -- or still mired down in design disputes, or even still waiting for a resolution on funding the WA to be passed -- I obviously can't stop you, but you could have said so earlier...

EDIT: Of course, given the apparently-multiversal nature of NS, we might actually have ended up with several WA HQ buildings being constructed in alternative versions of the city concerned... That would explain why the various labour-forces that people are claiming to have sent don't seem to have noticed each other until now... and, given the installation of suitable 'portals', help to solve the office-shortage problem...

In the Name of the Eternal Kawaii, may the Cute One be praised

As the WA Strangers' Bar is home of the only surviving Kawaiian shrine, it is our peoples' sacred duty to defend to the death the holy precincts where the Cute One last Manifested Itself. This resolution, if passed, will be considered an Act of War upon our nation, and will be responded to accordingly!

You must be insane. Or snorting out of the wrong baggie.I assure you, Ambassador Talone, Mr. Riley is neither. He was simply trying to make a point about Godmoding, which admittedly would have made more sense had he not wildly misinterpreted Frisbeeteria's post. We apologize for the misunderstanding. Cdr. Chiang says hi, by the way.
