Population limits

I have not yet introduced a resolution to the WA, but I am considering one, and I thought it best to test the waters before acting formally. specifically, I will propose that the world population be reduced by voluntary population reduction. If we could get the world's population under one billion again, then there would be more of everything for everyone. In light of the libertarian principles of Exo-urbia, I would insist that all population reduction be completely voluntary; although imposing the death penalty for a variety of crimes might also be a good idea. Comments and thoughts on how to best tailor this proposal so that it would be acceptable by the most people are solicited.

Heh, some long time Vets of the game wouldn't appreciate that. I've seen some accounts with 10 billion...

That is crazy! :upyours:
our nations are great because they got great civilians, and great because they got much!
it is crazy to make our population under 1 billion!
What shoud we win then?
That is every war, they got more! This is not a good idea!
And if ever, EVER the population of any WA member may only be 1 billion, i will leave before you can say "bye"!
Our nations must grow so much, that is why they are great and mighty!
if it is under 1 billion, you wont be a strong nation ever!

Oh that reminds me, how would you have a giant war if there was only 100,000 soldiers on each side?

well, if you only got 100.000 troops, i think it is not very fun, so i wont make war than.

Smaller, controlled, wars are much more entertaining, like the wars that they had in Italy during the Late Middle Ages and Renaissance in which the only casualties were people who feel off their horses.

I get the impression that you are opposed to voluntary population reduction.

I take it that you favor involuntary population reduction. Thanks for letting me know.

This directly affects game mechanics, thus it is against the rules.

Saint Jesus Island and it's Primary Union of Crown Dependencies (consisting of Mosisbique, Godswana, Saudi Abrahamia, Mohammidrid and Prophet Betheleham Island) are stating our opposition for this argument.

Keep the populations rising is our decision (Jesus' Great Parliament, The Communist State Union of Saint Jesus Island, The Official World Assembly Reprentatives of the Primary Union of Crown Dependencies Within Saint Jesus Territories and Administrative Regions, economy4u.co.jesus and Eggmeister.com).
