So, I was browsing around the World Assembly page, and I clicked on the "Apply to Join" button, not thinking it would go through automatically with no sign-up form or confirmation or anything. Is there any way to cancel joining, or exit the WA once I have been accepted in?

Once you are accepted you can go back to the World Assembly page and click the 'Retire' button, then you'll leave the WA.

But yes, if you do become a member, you can always resign. That "Apply to Join" button turns into a "Resign" button once your membership goes through.
