Good to know someone agrees! Even if it is Stalin.

Well I have to agree in part, but I also disagree. Yes, people should be allowed to bear arms. Heck, its a fundamental right in the USA. But, without law and order, man has no freedom. What I mean is while we can have guns to protect ourselves, I don't think we need to walk around with AK's. It is proven that assault guns can increase crime. Not to mention be a helluva pain to police. But thanks for the feedback.

Sorry about that long time. Comp. trouble. Anyway, I have to say I agree and disagree with that point. Yes, people should be allowed to have some type of weapon to protect themselves, such as a knife or handgun. But, we do need some type of restriction as to what kind of weapons they can own. My proposal seeks to ban assault weapons. Handguns, light shotguns, and hunting rifles are okay in some situations. Bearing arms is a fundamental right in the USA. But do we really need civilians having AK's in their house. Not to mention pose a danger to our police. No, not all gun owners are criminals, but those who are are gonna use them for trouble. Anyway, thanks for the feedback!

I'm posting the original text of the proposal hear so you don't have to WA page to see it.

Here goes:

This proposal seeks to ban the sale, transfer, and ownership of assault weapons among civilians.

REALIZING:
1) That assault weapons are highly dangerous devices and should only be operated by those with proper instruction.
2) Assault weapons are military-grade firearms and should not be in the hands of the general public.
3) Assault weapons pose an increasing danger to police and other law enforcement agencies.
4) Assault weapons have added to an increase in crime, especially felonies including murder.

RECOMMENDS:
1) That the WA take action by banning the sale, transfer, and ownership of said weapons to the civilian populace.
2) That all WA member states enforce this legislation if passed.
3) That member states' law enforcement agencies work to prevent the circulation of such weapons in the black market.
4) That member states promote education on the dangers of these weapons.

FURTHER ADDING:
An assault weapon is defined as any military grade rifle.(i.e. AK-47, M16, M4,etc.) This proposal also extends to include a ban on machine guns and other high caliber(sniper) rifles.

Illegal, RL reference. I'm not a mod, but I know 'em when I see 'em.

That includes weapons, too? Looks like I might have to redraft the act later.

So this proposal is most likely toast?

What litmus does the proposal fail to make it a RL reference?

there are over 1800 delegates, 77,000 nation states. while i have no idea how many of those nation states are active, nor how many delegates are, even if a 10th are, out of those, how many like you submit proposals to the delegates?

it's not necessarily that it's toast--it's just the legislative process. to my reading of the way proposals work, yours is likely in a que. after that, who can say?

be paitent, there's no reason to think a majority of delegates won't push it to a WA vote. :)

So this proposal is most likely toast?

What do you mean, Coffeeholics?

i don't see your proposal as a RL reference in comparison to say, the Fair Trial resolution up for vote currently.

i'm not positive what the clear and present danger that distinguishes "RL" vs "NS" regarding proposals.

as far as i can tell, your proposal is germane to the NS world.

What do you mean, Coffeeholics?

I don't know. Maybe its possible AK-47 or M16 could be interpreted as real life references. But I've gotten some delegates to support me though. What do you think of it? Thumbs up or down.

(i.e. AK-47, M16, M4,etc.)These are real world weapons (the "Автомат Калашникова образца 1947 года", the "Rifle, Caliber 5.56 mm, M16", and the "M4 Carbine" (which is, itself, a smaller version of the M16A2) respectively), this constitutes a real world violation, just like writing a Proposal about "Honda Civics" or "Sony Playstations".

Thank you for letting me know. So my proposal will be deleted? If so, can I redraft it and resubmit to the WA?
