So I've a Catch-22.
Were I a member of the World Assembly I could propose a resolution to be voted on to reaffirm my ability to join the World Assembly, but, as it stands, I'm not a member and therefore can't do anything about my inability to become a member.
I was expelled from the former institution for having other nations as members, which is a clear violation of the rules. Now, I'm not one normally for childishness, but I think it's fair to say that violating international conventions on the use of the 'United Nations' moniker and related logos, etc. is somewhat risqué, to say the least.
Don't get me wrong, I am a big fan of Max Barry and I support him 100% in this matter and applaud his quick action in carrying out the requirements of the cease and desist letter, but I'd like to ask kindly whether the same sort of understanding could be shown towards people like myself who were banned from the previous establishment for transgressions of this sort.
I'd like to be able to join the WA and being a more worldly and mature person I think I can abide by these rules adequately.
It's been - at a guess - three years since I was ejected and I think I've done a decent job of being a good NationStates citizen outside of the UN since then, but with this new change - the fall of the United Nations, the rise of the World Assembly - perhaps we can look past the accidental or naive mistakes made in the past and give some nations a second chance?
Thankyou for hearing me out.
