Regardless, I'm coming round to the view that we bring back slavery. I'm tired of all this equality rubbish, this 'we're all equal' blah.

I totally trashed my friend at Wii Table Tennis last night - clearly I'm better than him. In a fair world, he'd be my slave.

It's fairer to point out that people are not equal, honesty will out.

You know, I won't have the energy to do it myself, but if this is actually a thing, then you have my permission to resubmit my Abolition of Slavery proposal with the typo fixed.

As my nation has penal slavery I am not inclined to abolish it or support an abolishment of slavery.

I have never believed that all are equal - equal rights yes, but any one can look around and see that not all people are inately equal - that is pure fallacy. Look at me, I can't spell worth a darn, but I'm far better than average in other areas. I am equal only to myself.

I feel that in trying for everyone to be equal we are actually encouraging the lowest common denominatior and devalueing talent, drive, initiave, and hard work among other things.

Regardless, the WA has no authority to make decisions of inequality, being composed of hopeless hacks like ourselves.

Meanwhile, penal slavery can be slipped past this proposal with a few word changes in your government. Rather than dealing out time in jail, simply burden your criminals with a "debt to society" while simultaneously seizing (or freezing, if you prefer) all of their assets. Offer them employment proportioned to the length of sentence with the alternative being indefinite jail time. In this way, they are not penal slaves. Rather, they have two options (working or remaining incarcerated), and therefore are not technically slaves.

Hayden Seigfried stepped carefully over the piles of charred rubble that had been the Catawaban UN desk on the Floor. He turned to Miss Ord, his diplomatic aide who was carrying three stacked milk crates. He waved pointed to a relatively clear spot. The tall Taung woman set the milk crates down. Seigfried sat down on one, Miss Ord sat on another, and the last acted as a briefcase stand. Hayden set his briefcase down and looked over towards the Aarinikstani delegate to the WA.

"While the Armed Republic of Catawaba would support the abolishment of slavery, we can not support your proposal as written. Like our fellow Fatal Terreans from the Militarized Zone, we also utilize penal labor. We consider it part and parcel of any prison sentence, and it helps subsidize the cost of holding and supporting prisoners."

Siegfried pushed his glasses back up his nose. "If a clearer definition of slavery that excluded penal labor, we would support it."
