WA Education for All Resolution Proposal

Thought about putting this up in the new World Assembly and would like any input.

The World Assembly

RECOGNIZING that everyone has a right to education;

UNDERSTANDING that education can create a safer, healthier, and more prosperous world;

REALIZING that education is seriously deficient in many nations;

RECOGNIZING that education is fundamental to self development;

OUTLINES the following principles:

1) Free universal primary education for all

2) Increase adult literacy in all nations

3) Create gender equality in schools

4) Improve the overall quality of education

5) Promote learning and life skills for all young people and adults

The World Assembly reaffirms the right of all people to education and this is the foundation for Education for All.

We think this suffers from the same problem as many early UN resolutions; it attempts to cover too wide an issue with almost no detail. It touches on educational finance (clearly an Education and Creativity issue), equality (clearly a Human Rights issue), and educational levels (again an Education and Creativity issue, but a different one). We suggest that the honoured ambassador picks just one issue and fleshes it out somewhat; outlining how educational standards should be raised, for example, and explaining how these quite significant initiatives should be financed.

1) Free universal primary education for all

define primary........

2) Increase adult literacy in all nations

how? Check out the UN Access to Literacy Project for possible ideas.

3) Create gender equality in schools

what does gender equality equate to? same grades? same enrollment numbers? and which schools?

4) Improve the overall quality of education

how? and dont say private schools for the poor! (oh god... why did i even write that)

5) Promote learning and life skills for all young people and adults

How? hell.... what does 'learning and life skills' even mean?

on the other hand, as you are in my region, i am in full and absolut (no typo intended) support of this proposal.

My complaints are the same as Decopod Ten's and Gobbannium.

At this point TMZ can not support this proposal.
