New UN Proposals

I feel the UN lacks the ability to propose trade restrictions. Whilst it has Free Trade, there are certain products which it may at times deem inappropriate; such as the Trade Per-Say of Weapons, rather than a nations disarmament (selling and disarming are different).

Whilst, there should also be resolutions that address relations between member and non-member states concerning certain matters. For example, there should be the possibility for economic embargoes to be imposed on non-member nations.

Or a provision that impedes member countries from supporting in any way non-member countries that embark in activities strictly banned by the UN (hampering the international relations of those non-member countries that commit to said activities).

I don't see how the UN lacks the ability to at least discuss these -- and the Free Trade battle hasn't been entirely lost yet!

If you're asking for UN resolutions to be written covering these subjects, try drafting them yourself in the UN forum and see if you can get them solid (and legal) enough to vote. UN resolutions can't constrain non-members directly.

I meant with respect to categories.

For example, the free trade categories allows you to set it up strong/significant or mild... but it doesn't have an option to INCREASE trade barriers for certain objects.

Ah, I see. I'm moving this to the UN forum, as it's getting too technical for Technical. The resident experts will no doubt have some advice.

Until they do, you might consider this quote from the Rules for UN Proposals (my emphasis):
Free Trade
A resolution to reduce barriers to free trade and commerce.

Social Justice
A resolution to reduce income inequality and increase basic welfare.

These are almost exactly opposed types of resolutions. Both affect Economic freedoms. "Free Trade" increases Economic freedoms while "Social Justice" reduces Economic freedoms. In addition, "Social Justice" also increases government spending on welfare and healthcare (though "Free Trade" does not have an opposite effect)...<snip>

You'll find several pairings of opposed categories. If you write very strictly "to category", it's amazing what you can fit in. Human Rights and Political Stability also lend themselves to creative interpretations. (I'll stop there before the senior mods whose thankless task it is to delete proposals start throwing things.)

You should also check existing resolutions for examples of how a provision can be written that "impedes member countries from supporting in any way non-member countries that embark in activities strictly banned by the UN".

You got "Advancement of Industry/Protective Tarrif" as a cateogry. But that's only for protective tariffs. Just have it that when you are increasing trade barriers, throw in a tariff as well, and it should be legal.
