Support Repeal "Metric System "

The Following proposal has been proposed to the UN by myself today and I wish for everybody to support my repeal of the BADLY written and ILLEGITIMATE Resolution #24: Metric System which does not achieve anything because it states that it only "Proposes" and does not actually make Metric the Measurement system of the UN!

Even if you propose such a standardized measurement system, this old resolution doesn't cut it!

We support the repeal of the ineffective redundant metric system.

Even if you propose such a standardized measurement system, this old resolution doesn't cut it!

Description: UN Resolution #24: Metric System (Category: Free Trade; Strength: Strong) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: UNDERSTANDING The original intent of this resolution, to bring about a single, and simple, global measurement system by forcing all nations to adhere to the Metric System.

STATING that such micromanaging by the UN, forced upon a nation is an utter infringement upon all nations rights to Govern as they See fit.

FURTHER NOTING that nowhere in the Resolutions text does it actually achieve its purpose of Making the UN Metric, only stating instead, "....I propose that all countries within the United Nations be converted to the Metric standard." The Resolution does not in actuality make the UN fully Metric but only 'proposes it'

CONCLUDING that this resolution is an infringement on sovereignty, and even if one was to support such an idea to standardize the UN, that A better written resolution would be needed to replace this resolution and bring about such changes.

Approvals: WE NEED YOU TO APPROVE IT!!!!!

Status: Lacking Support (requires xxx more approvals)

I have one of these up already that's 2 approvals away from Quorum. It would be funny if two repeals of the same legislation both reached Quorum at once though(I don't believe it's breaking any rules to do so anyhow).

Funny, but hopefully not game breaking.

Edit: Oh wait, Nat Sov argument, Illegal.

Nope, not illegal. In fact it's happened once before, it just means that if the first repeal fails we get a second crack at it. And if I remember correctly, the prior time the mods were quick to jump on deleting the other one once the first one passed to prevent it from having a chance to break the game.

see, im not sure if i support this. Decapod Ten believs that any nation should come up with its own wieghts and measurements, but at the same time HATES the metcric system. on the one hand, i support repealing the metric system in any form, but on the other, i lik,e how the mcurrent resolution allows Decapod Ten to not actually use the Metric system becauase it doesnt require it.

p.s. fuck anybody who doesnt lyke the syntax, im drunk.

Repeal all Metric resolutions

Then have a resolution to protect each nation's right to their own weights and measures.

That is the Official Position of Dukeburyshire
