Candidates for Group 2 are:

#202: Repeal "UN Biological Weapons Ban" (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12415040&postcount=203)
#203: UN Economics Prize (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12864187&postcount=204)
#204: UN Bio Agent Convention (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12864193&postcount=205)
#205: Repeal "UN Patent Law" (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12864196&postcount=206)
#206: Repeal "Sexual Freedom" (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12864200&postcount=207)
#207: Cultural Heritage in War (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12864200&postcount=207)
#208: Maritime Neutrality Covention (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12864207&postcount=209)
#208: Repeal "Banning whaling" (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12864214&postcount=210)
#210: Forest Management (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12864215&postcount=211)
#211: Establishment of ICPIN (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12864221&postcount=212)

Again, like the last round, vote once for your favourite, and the two with the most votes goes through to the Grand Final. Vote for one with a mispelled title if you want me to pin these photo's of the Thessadorian Ambassador showering on the notice board in the men's toilet on the 14th floor.
Brutland and Norden

The United Kingdom of Brutland and Norden will abstain on this round, being:
1. unable to vote on the last one, due to party preparations; and
(OOC: missed poll closure by about twenty minutes :()
2. unable to recall or evaluate these resolutions... there are just too many.
(OOC: too lazy :p)

However, the United Kingdom of Brutland and Norden will vote on the final round.

In addition, we also wish that there would be a "Best 'Failed Resolution' of 2007", in which we nominate Karmicaria's "UN Funding Act" with its stunning clarity and lofty goals... stunned many of delegates into being unable to reach enlightenment. Perhaps we can also add "Best Floor Debate of 2007" in which we would like to nominate the debate on "Repeal 'Banning Whaling'", with its stellar impromptu reality show of Iron Chef. We are still disappointed we had not tasted Chef Sven's dish.

These competitions would probably distract the delegates away from their regular... erm... work... so we don't know.
(OOC: more contests in the UN forum... I don't know if that would be good or not...)

We have to say we find this round much less inspiring than the previous. While some resolutions were necessary, some worthy, and not a few completely wrong-headed, none of them enthused us as greatly as several of the previous resolutions.

Having said that, were we voting upon the quality of debate we would have had no hesitation in endorsing the sheer joy that was the repeal of "Banning Whaling"!

We heartily agree that Banning whaling was one of the finest debates ever held in these halls. It pains us greatly that we must pass on nominating the end product as one of the greatest resolutions of 2007. It was a toss-up between UN Bio Agent Convention, Cultural Heritage in War and Establishment of ICPIN -- but since the author of the last two was willing to vote for the first of the group, so too are we.

I went with the BioAgent thingus. I rather liked that one, but... yeah. Kenny basically said everything I wanted to. Thanks, Kenny. You saved me some time.

Another very difficult choice: I almost voted for the 'UN Bio Agent Convention', but eventually chose 'Establishment of ICPIN' instead on the basis that it actually does something active (within the bounds of what I consider to be the UN's rightful scope) instead of just setting limits on the nations.

A number of good ones, but we know how much work went into UN Bio Agent Convention, and to a good end, so we voted for that.

If it's a tie what will happen? Currently two have 4 votes, so would both of those go through?

Dunno; worry about that when we come to it. Either put both through, or ippy dippy it, or be a biased contest runner and stick mine through over the other.

Although i wasn't initially for it, #208: Repeal "Banning whaling" was i think one of the best floor debates. The brief Iron Chef show, massive defenestrations, and rather lively nonsense in the GA I feel earns the best resolution in Group Two.

UN Bio Agent Committee has won, followed by Repeal Banning Whaling (one ICPN voter has no post to there name).

Group 3 up soon
