Round here the presence of weapons, any weapons, makes everyone nervous. Plus we don't really have a government as you understand it to oppress us, more of a collective. As such, I'm somewhat unimpressed by your arguments.

The Capitalist Democracy of Zanyo puts the proposal "Relaxations on Gun Control" up for review by the member nations of the U.N. Please read over it and voice your opinions. I shall attempt to make suitable changes that retain the law's original intentions.

Relaxations on Gun Control
A resolution to tighten or relax gun control laws.

Our opinion? No. We disagree with almost every step of your argument.

As far as I'm concerned the only gun control needed is being able to hit where you aim. As for the proposal, gun laws are a national issue, not an international one.

Personally, we would feel safe if none of our fellow citizens had any form of weapon. We are not advocating that as a policy, but intend to demonstrate that your statement can easily be used to argue in favour of gun control.

FURTHER UNDERSTANDING a gun's power to keep governments from infringing on people's rights,
We see no evidence to support this statement. Gun ownership is prevalent in many of the most oppressive nations. Furthermore, many stable democracies have strict gun control regulation.

ACKNOWLEDGING gun regulation, including but not limited to background checks and mental examinations, as an acceptable form of control,

hereby abolishes all forms of gun control save for the afore mentioned gun regulation
Any nation advocating gun control can just observe that any legislation on the matter can be categorised as 'gun regulation' (given your definition is 'not limited'). This proposal would therefore have no effect whatsoever.

To me, this has no place on the international forum. This is something that should and has been dealt with at the national level. I would oppose this legislation.

While we support the right of the responsible citizenry to bear personal defense weapons in public, the Holy Empire of Imota maintains the right to manage its own weapons policy, and unequivocally refuses to support this proposal.

I would like to echo the statements of my colleague Bob Flibble. I would support blocking legislation which protected the right of member nations to make decisions on gun control.
