Free Expression

The "Free Expression" resolution is great - until its gets to all the exceptions. There are a great many problems with the exceptions. Some of the obvious ones are banning free expresion when it comes to "pornography," "salacious materials," and so on. Who's to decide what qualifies in such category? Some would like to call women who are wearing less than a burqa "salacious" and "pornographic." Even more serious, there are times when instigation to widespread and enthusiastic protest of the government are the only ethical thing to do. And then there's "defaming" people, corporations, institutions, etc. It should go without saying that ample examples are available when just speaking truth is cast as defamation by those it's being spoken about, with the speakers told to shut up on pain of imprisonment, torture, and death. "Free Expression" needs to be "Free Expression." Period.
