[DRAFT] The Circumference Multiplier (aka Pi)

I am brainstorming a very simple and straightforward resolution that sets the value of the circumference multiplier (aka Pi) on stone. It will be good for mathematicians.

Category: Education and Creativity
Area of Effect: Educational

I would be inclined to refer Pi as the Circumference multiplier, but there would be a clause that defines the symbol of the circumference multiplier to be the Greek small letter Pi as in international standard expression for a circumference multiplier.

I know it is 3.1415926536 to ten decimal places, but will it be allowed in NS life? I need to be aware that each UN nation will have their own interpretation and it would be painful to ban theirs.

I cannot fit all the digits of Pi because there is a 3500 character limit for proposals. And Pi itself is irrational.

Why on earth does the UN need to do this? Pi is pi. It is 3.1415926536. If some nation wants to define it as something else then that is their problem.

Okay, I might as well keep that local too: that's another plan in the bin.

OOC: Will you please run things like this by your regional board or something first? I can't seriously imagine anyone thinking a resolution like this is necessary or useful or anything but a way to get your name on the books. I'm all for lots of submissions and everything, but you'd be better off with just 1 good one.

Let's leave the defining of mathematical terms to the mathematicians, shall we?

I blame that damn evolution Resolution for this.
