The atmosphere in the chamber of the General Assembly of the United Nations is filled with the sound of dress shoes and high heels hitting the floor and the low murmur of delegates taking their seats. The General Assembly Chairman taps a gavel on the high risen desk.

Chairman: "The General Assembly is called to order! Delegates, please take your seats."

The Chairman waits patiently as the delegates move to their seats. Once most of the delegate were sitting the Chairman gave the gavel a single tap to silent all talking.

Chairman: "The Chairman recognizes the esteem delegate from the Republic of ChristianFlorissant."

Head turn as a medium-sized man stands in the back of the room. The man steps into the center isle to begin his journey towards the podium just under the Chairman's bench. The man is about five foot eight inches tall, weights about 250 pounds, and appears to be in good shape for someone in their late-forties. The man has full head of hair in a blend of gray and light brown. The man's gray-brown mustache runs neatly under his nose, around his mouth and flanks the gray-brown beard to just beyond his chin. The beard flows neatly down to the center of the man's chest. The man steps are full of determination, confidence, and purposes as he climbs the stairs to the podium. The man places the folder he was carrying on the podium as he faces the delegates. The man closes his eyes, places hands on both sides of the podium, and leads back to pray and collect himself. The man opens his eyes. The man has a gentleness about him with eyes tha glow with excitement. This is the kind of man that earns the respect of friends and foes alike without demanding it. With a clear, firm, but kind voice the delegate for the Republic of ChristianFlorissant addresses the Assembly.

Delegate Borsk Fey'lya: "Ladies and Gentlemen of United Nation General Assembly, I am honored to be with such distinguished delegates. My name is Borsk Fey'lya and I bring you greetings for the Republic of ChristianFlorissant. "

Delegate Fey'lya gives his fellow delegates an honest smile before continuing.

Delegate Borsk Fey'lya: "Along side my friend and fellow delegate, Sparkplug Witwicky, I will do my best to share with you the views of ChristianFlorissant with you. I come before you now in opposition to the Resolution proposed by the distinguished delegation from the Armed Republic of St. Michel de Britannia. St. Michal de Britannia's Resolution proposes to place a Ban on Religion in the World. I have serious objects to this. First, no nation has the right to tell its citizens what they can and cannot believe. The right to believe and think what you want is the God-given right of every person on Earth. The only real privacy a person has is their own thoughts in their minds. I also have objection to the logic employed as an attempt ti justify this misguide resolution. Let us break do this bills logic."

The lights in the General Assembly Chamber dim except for the podium light. A screen comes to life to the left of Delegate Fey'lya. Segments of St. Michal de Britannia's Resolution appear on the screen as Delegate Fey'lya discusses it.

Religion is the cause of all that is evil in the world. It has caused several wars...

Delegate Borsk Fey'lya: "I will be one of the first to admit that a lot of terrible acts have been committed 'in the name of God'. And yes, some of those terrible acts include wars and even genocide. I will join anyone in opposing evil acts regardless of the offenders excuse. However, I would like to point out that there are more wars fought for the greed of land, resources, or a lust for power then are fought over religion. Just recently the Republic of ChristianFlorissant spoke out against the Republic of Zackaroth, the Dominion of Red tide Rising, and the United Provinces of Cripistan over their action regarding the Island of Kurr. (See page 10 of Cripistan invades Kuur Island (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=542916&page=10) for detail on this) The motives for Cripistan and Zazkaroth were clear the greed for the natural resources on the island of Kurr. This is just one of the many perfect examples of a war and evil act conducted for non-religious. Now let us talk about religion being 'evil'. I will again admit that there has been great evil done 'in God's name.' What about the great good done in the name of God? It is a fact that the first schools were created at churches and mosques. It was Christian Churches that started the first hospitals and encouraged the study of medicine. Science was created Christians wanting to study God's creation. Has evil come from religious belief? Yes, but so has great good. "

...and alround stinks.

...the lunatics who believe in this rubbish!

Delegate Borsk Fey'lya: "My friends, this is a matter of opinion. I will defend delegation from the Armed Republic of St. Michel de Britannia's right to make this statement. The freedom of speech is held with high regard in the Republic of ChristianFlorissant. However, no resolution can be supported by a nation's personal opinions. Furthermore, call names serves no purpose, but cause ill feelings between nations and people.

The screen switches off as the Assembly lights come one. Delegate Fey'lya faces the delegates and concludes his address.

Delegate Borsk Fey'lya: "My Friend, the logic used to support this resolution is full of holes. And consider this as you examine your view on this resolution: The purpose of the United Nations is to create friendships and cooperation between nations in the world. By doing this it is hope that problems can be solved peacefully. If the United Nations attempts to ban religion you will alienate to group of nation. You will alienate every Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist or any other nation that holds a faith up as a key part of their culture. The second group you will alienate are those countries that hold freedom of religion as a right. My friends, if these groups left the United Nations it would cease to an effective body. The United Nation already has an approved for tolerance for all religions. (Religious Tolerance (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=7029620&postcount=20)) There is also an approved resolution for the Universal Freedom of Choice (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=7030124&postcount=54). I believe that freedom to choose includes the freedom the choose to believe in God. This concludes my statements for now. I open the floor to the comments of other worthy delegates.

Delegate Borsk Fey'lya turns and walks down the step.

Alfred Devereux Sweynsson MD, this nation's ambassador to the UN, a brown-skinned man who is currently wearing a penguin costume, replies:

"I welcome the honourable ambassador for the nation of ChristianFlorrisant to our ranks, and congratulate him on the quality of his address to us... especially in the light of some of the maiden speeches that have been made by various other nations' ambassadors here.

Don't worry. The proposal in question is illegal, not only because of the two already-existing resolutions that you cited but also because this organisation's basic rules actually forbid it to pass any resolutions that would ban -- or, for that matter, enforce -- any particular ideology or system of government outright, so it will simply not be allowed to reach the stage of a vote by the General Assembly."

The right to believe and think what you want is the God-given right of every person on Earth..And if god doesn't exist in a nation then where do those rights one may have come from...? The tone of your comment would be considered by us one sided and thus will serve to divide members over it. As no gods then no given rights from them.. Thus in it you have probably served to give cause to divide the members over this issue even more...

The purpose of the United Nations is to create friendships and cooperation between nations in the world. As long as there are people in this universe that don't believe in god, those that do, and gods this will be hard for the UN to reach.. getting folks to be friends and cooperate with each other.

Also the idea it seems to be limited in mind to one single place in a grand universe with many diverse beliefs and people. As people live in their part of the world, gods also live near them... all in a single universe that is diverse in natural beliefs....

The only real privacy a person has is their own thoughts in their minds.Well if you could only hear from those from Armed Republic of St. Michel de Britannia; what we see in their minds you'd be saying a lot more than you are now about them. However we are bound by trust not to reveal things we may read when with others who can't read minds as we do.

What about the great good done in the name of God?This is noble comment but not all things done in name of god is not good....as it all depends on what side of the axe blade, end of a rope, or how near the fire, one is when saying it good or bad... All beliefs may lead to evil when those that believe get abusive in what they do.
